Political correctness has now reached an entirely new stratosphere: The University of Wisconsin-Madison believes grades should be apportioned based on race:
Campus Reform reports:
The policy, named the “Framework for Diversity and Inclusive Excellence,” calls for “proportional participation of historically underrepresented racial-ethnic groups at all levels of an institution, including high-status special programs, high-demand majors, and in the distribution of grades.”
Huh? UWM professor W. Lee Hansen wrote about his concerns with the ridiculous politically correct policy late last week:
“Professors, instead of just awarding the grade that each student earns, would apparently have to adjust them so that academically weaker, ‘historically underrepresented racial/ethnic’ students perform at the same level and receive the same grades as academically stronger students.”
The good professor also took the university to task over how students of one race could prohibit students of other races from selecting their major:
“Suppose there were a surge of interest in a high demand field such as computer science. Under the ‘equity’ policy, it seems that some of those who want to study this field would be told that they’ll have to choose another major because computer science already has “enough” students from their ‘difference’ group.”
As the famous Austrian economist F.A. Hayek said: “There is all the difference in the world between treating people equally and attempting to make them equal.”

There are a large percentage of draft age people who are physically unqualified, but there are more that are mentally/emotionally unfit.

That’s an insult to minorities. You already assume that they are too stupid to get high grades because of skin color. Anyone who applies himself should be able to obtain the grades he wants. Many “minority” students have achieved 4.0 GPAs while working themselves through school. Funny how “diversity” actually harms instead of helps people.
It’s called tyranny through ‘compassion’!
I should write this college and ask that they issue me a diploma degree because their students get one and I don’t. I’m university-challenged. It’s only fair.

I’m into rocketry and hydrazine is used quite a bit in the professional rockets.

Maybe they should just give everyone degrees in whatever field they like...and just be done with it..
