Christie doesn't plan to campaign for Astorino, says he doesn't 'invest in lost causes'

GREENWICH, Conn. (AP) -- Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Monday he doesn't have plans to campaign for New York's Republican candidate for governor because he doesn't campaign for candidates he doesn't think can win.

Christie was in Greenwich, Connecticut, to raise cash for GOP candidate Tom Foley when he was asked whether he planned to spend any time campaigning in New York, where Republican challenger Rob Astorino, the Westchester County executive, trails incumbent Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo by a large margin in public polls.

"You know, I will spend time in places where we have a chance to win," said Christie, who chairs the Republican Governors Association.

Christie, who just returned from a trip to Iowa and plans to spend time in Colorado this week, said he's repeatedly told candidates he doesn't "pay for landslides" and he doesn't "invest in lost causes."

Astorino's spokeswoman Jessica Proud said a statement that his campaign "simply can't believe that the governor, as head of the RGA, would say that." She said other governors, including members of the RGA's executive committee, have offered their help.

Translation—Christie won’t support a pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, fiscal conservative who is also not 350 pounds. Fat, phony tub of lard. Go eat a doughnut.

Christie’s done nothing for the Rs in NJ so why would he help those in NY?

“You know, I will spend time in places where we have a chance to win.”

This is an attitude that will return to haunt Christie for a long time to come.

Up against almost anybody Christie would face in the general elections, the real Democrat liberal would be preferred over the phony Republican “me too” liberal-lite that Christie is at heart.

The cause is only “lost” when it is conceded before the contest is even fairly under way.

With Mallory's poll numbers in the tank, it'll take election fraud in Bridgeport for him to win. Foley should have been the Gov, but Fraud in Bridgeport caused him to lose.

Of course the state house and senate needs revamping if CT wants to keep businesses.

"You know, I will spend time in places where we have a chance to win,"

Guess Christie would have been a loyalist back in the day.

Even in NY none of the 29 Republican State Senators have contributed to Asotrino’s campaign. Absolutely pathetic.
