Mexico Foreign Minister José Antonio Meade Kuribreña on Tuesday challenged Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s characterization of the flow of Central American children into the U.S. as an “assault” on Americans and their security.
“There’s a need to respond to the upsurge in minors, but I don’t see how the upsurge of minors threatens the security of the U.S. — and I certainly don’t see how it threatens the security of Texas,” Meade said in an appearance at The Chronicle’s editorial board. “There’s a need for a response. … That response should have a high level of humanitarian concerns within it.
“To pose (the issue) as a security threat is missing the dynamics” behind the migration, he said, including violence in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador that has left thousands of children in need of help.
It also ignores the potential for countries affected by the migration to work together to solve it, he said.

How many divisions are stationed in the Continental United States (Army, Marine and Army National Guard/Reserve) these days? Take all of them, along with all other Reservists, underutilized federal, state and local employees and ROTC kids and put them on the border.

Makes no difference if they are kids, teenagers, adults or old folks. The US is a sovereign nation and we have laws regarding crossing any of our borders. Anyone crossing our borders without permission and proper paperwork is breaking our laws. PERIOD.
Besides, based on what I read and see, most of the criminal aliens are at least 14 years old. Many are covered in gang tatts. Hardly “children.”

Not all of the surge of illegals are children, by far.
Not all of those that claim to be children are even children.
Many of the illegals are members of violent gangs or other hardened criminals.
With the surge in illegals keeping Border Patrol busy- who knows who else is coming in...terrorists?
Violence is actually down in Central America, so the story of the illegals coming here is bogus, not to mention the violent gang members “they are fleeing” have been here for years and more are coming with them so coming here is not a solution.
Illegal immigration is a threat to both our National Security and the security of Texas. Illegal immigration is also a health threat and a financial burden.
Since the Mexico foreign minister does not see a problem with the illegals from Central America he should be happy take them back to Mexico and care for them.
If we have no enforceable Southern border, lets take over Mexico.
