Bill Clinton doesn't want his wife to win the U.S. presidency, according to sources cited in an explosive new book about the $100 million conglomerate that the Clintons have become since they left the White House. The former president is 'deeply conflicted' about the idea, writes Daniel Halper in 'Clinton Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine,' a well-sourced and easy-reading book released Tuesday. A former senior adviser to President Clinton told Halper that if Mrs. Clinton, the presumptive Democratic favorite, should become president, 'Clinton's f***ed.'

I don't like Bill Clinton at all, but I can see why he would not want to go through all this again and then have to be in the media spotlight all over again. Plus he has a new girlfriend.

I can see where he would be very conflicted.
On one hand, he probably really wants to be in the center of power again, flying on AF-One.
On the other hand, since their “marriage” is a sham anyway (more of an alliance really), there is no guarantee she will let him call any of the shots. Once she is POTUS, she may just freeze him out. There is also the matter of his legacy. He probably worries that if she gets in, she will really screw things up. Lastly, he probably still feels superior to her since he was POTUS and she wasn’t. If she is elected, that is gone forever.
Bill did spill the beans about Chelsea not being his not to long ago.

Mainly b/c the Clintons are relying heavily on "white privilege" to get back into office. The Clintons' have benefitted from, and are climbing back into office, using privileges far beyond those of the "community of color" to whom they plan to appeal.

BACKSTORY Hillary calculatedly dropped the "dead broke" comment on ABC-News' Diane Sawyer, saying "how tough life was" (hoping to gain the voters' sympathy): "We came out of the White House not only dead broke, but in debt. “We had no money when we got there, and we struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages, for houses, for Chelsea’s education. You know, it was not easy."
REALITY CHECK The greedy, mega-wealthy Clintons have money pouring in from everywhere without lifting a finger...said to be worth couple BILLION dollars.
Never-enough Bill/Hillary look to cash in w/ another go-round in the White House. The Clintons owe bigtime......money is pouring into their three tax-exempt foundations......and these donors expect payback.
IMO, i don’t believe he tanked, I just don’t think he put a lot of effort into it in the beginning. They figured she would just be a walk in for the nomination. After South Carolina, it became personal for him. It’s always about him. This time around I think he will tank because he doesn’t want to be in the shadows. His recent feeble attempt to explain away her financial gaffes was telling. Very weak and lackluster effort. I bet he heard plenty about it afterwards.
The taint of 'loser' will be the last collective memory of the family by the country - and with donors in places like the UAE it will matter. Bill Clinton knows this. He also knows his wife's most important ‘qualification’ for office was her marriage to him.
From that perspective - Bill's right. Hillary should NOT run.

Not only did then-pres Clinton move control over such decisions from the more security-focused State Department to the Commerce Department, but he intervened in a Justice Department investigation of Loral Space & Communications, retroactively enabling Loral to sell critical missile technology to the Chinese.
Interestingly enough, Clinton’s decision was made at the request of Loral CEO Bernard Schwartz, whose earlier $1.3 million campaign donation made him the single biggest contributor to the Democratic election effort.
The result? Democrats got money from satellite companies and from Chinese communists; China got supercomputors, advanced production equipment and missile technology; Loral got its satellites launched at bargain basement prices . . . and the transfer of sensitive missile technology gave China [for the first time] the capability of depositing bombs on American cities.
Incidentally, Loral ultimately failed to benefit from this permanent injury to America’s security interests: in July 2003, the company filed for bankruptcy protection, and in order to raise cash was forced to sell its most profitable business – a fleet of communications satellites orbiting over North America.

(4) A Nevada energy company also gave Reid's granddaughter's theatre group a grant.
