How many troops on base are armed to repel a hostile intruder?

Do our troops have to hide because they have no way to defend themselves on US soil?

Another case of workplace violence in the making?

This is pure, unadulterated BULLSHIT! If a military base loaded with the best trained and armed military in the world are not allow to defend themselves, IN THEIR OWN DAMN BACKYARD, why do we even bother to fight?

A US military base, anywhere in the world, should be, through American military might, one of the MOST SECURE places anywhere they may be, no exception.

from KATV.com

Spokeswoman for LRAFB says there is a suspicious person, but it is not an active shooter situation. “Our highly trained emergency personnel are responding and we are on lockdown for the safety of our Airmen and their families. That is all we know at this time.”

LRAFB was holding a drill this morning testing emergency response procedures. The lockdown right now is NOT A DRILL.

A group of kids in ‘80’s rock and roll T-shirts.. Oh wait, it’s just a bunch of illegals from Honduras.

Not a chance since this is being reported. My guess? The suspect surely is a white male with a "You can have my gun when you pry it from my cold dead hands." bumper sticker on the back of his pickup truck.

Im in downtown LR. My brother works there and I used to be based at the intel sqdn there. More than likely, some SP waved a vehicle through for further inspection, and he/she kept going. This lockdown has lasted ALOT longer though, so I don't know what is going on.

Buddy at the intel bldg told me that they just doing their thing and waiting the all clear.

Haven't heard from my brother at the medical facility.

great State - greater people - we honeymooned there on Petit Jean....truly loved Blanchard Springs Caverns....coming from NY we wanted to grill some steaks one night in '86.....drove 15 mi to the Piggly Wiggly in Morrilton and couldn't believe how cheap the meat was - we ate well...

the only and I mean only detraction was one day the well went out at the place we were staying - the owner brought us some Arkansas wine.....not very enjoyable...but the food was awesome

I’m sure she looks like a [playboy] ‘bunny’ if the new book is to be believed. You could have a lot of fun with the ‘battery’ angle.

Arkansas wine

YUCK! We don't even drink it! The closest vineyard we enjoy is in Santa Barbara and Paso Robles, CA!

Update from brother: “Sorry, can’t answer phone. We are on radio/phone silence. We have SP team out front and have been on lockdown in the {medical} building for over an hour. Supposedly there is a suspicious person , possibly armed, on the base. Haven’t heard or seen anything suspicous. All okay here”.
