Mexico, Northern Triangle Governments Condemn Militaristic Approach.
The governments of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras have voiced their concern over Texas Governor Rick Perrys decision to send roughly 1,000 members of the National Guard to the southern border. Governor Perry said he is going to mobilize the National Guard in order to secure the border.
The Mexican government sent diplomatic notes to both the US State Department and the Texas governor to express their disapproval of the measure. Sergio Alcocer, Mexican undersecretary for North America, stated that sending the National Guard to the border does not contribute toward a solution for the migrant crisis. We understand that it is the prerogative of the Texas government [to do this], but it does not lead to the comprehensive attention that this migration problem, especially that of unaccompanied minors, deserves and requires, said Alcocer.
Jose Mariano Castillo, the Honduran ambassador to Mexico, described the situation as the opportunistic show of a future presidential candidate, who is only trying to frighten us. Castillo believes that Perry is merely trying score political points, since the National Guard cant do anything to solve the problem. He added, They are not police, nor immigration agents. They cant arrest anyone. This is simply a show.
Meanwhile, Carlos Antonio Ascencio Girón, El Salvadors ambassador to Mexico, reiterated that his government holds the position that the solution must be approached from a humanitarian point of view, respecting human rights.
On a regional level, Organization of the American States General Secretary José Miguel Insulza expressed his concerns over the fact that some sectors are trying to turn this issue into a national security matter.
KEEP THEM HOME...
Keep them on the Mexican side and let them worry about the chillun’. You would not hear one criticism of Mehico.
don’t worry Obama will try his best to screw it up and we all know Obama is Very Good at screwing things up
Of course it’s political theater, duh
The real scandal is we are being invaded
How is it not??
Its real simple , these Central American countries are shipping their criminals, gang members and welfare dependents to the US
IT IS A FRIGGIN NATIONAL SECURITY MATTER!
And sending them here is political and international terrorism,
And also a form of biological warfare considering all the diseases and virus that are being imported. Send 'em home and do it NOW!
Uh oh, looks like Jose might see the door closing and heee don like eett.
He is correct.
Unless the NG forcibly pushes the invaders BACK to Mexico, then it’s just theater.
“Jose Mariano Castillo”
Hey Jose...if your tiny little $hit-hole-astan was such a GD paradise, why is everyone leaving.
Fix you problems first A-HOLE!!!
Mexico’s enabling through the use of its national railroad and road systems in bringing these people to the border is arguably an act of war.
oh yes it does. The central Americans want to keep the issue focused on 'little children' but they only account for 20% of the invasion. The rest are adults, so more people apprehending more invaders IS a solution and a good one. Bugger off, Central America, why aren't your own borders secure?!
Sounds like Rick is over the target. He’s starting to take flak.
It is nothing but political theater. Perry can’t look out his office window without seeing Austin’s east side which is full of illegals. He’s had every day for the past 14 years to do something about them and he’s done NOTHING. Just because he’s “ordered” the NG there doesn’t mean they’ll be given the means to secure the border or to stop illegals much like the BP has been slapped down for even thinking of securing it.
