Immigration solution?
Washington Post ^ | Jennifer Rubin

Immigration reform won’t happen this year, but ironically the border debacle may make immigration reform more likely in the near to mid-future. Even if the House wanted to, there is little time (a couple weeks now and a few in September) to get any major legislation done. Moreover, with the monkey off their back and the Democrats under fire for the border mess, Republicans will see less urgency to move forward. (SNIP) It’s no longer politically untenable to argue we should first do border security, then evaluate and then address legalization issues. In fact that seems to be the default position. And — here is where it gets interesting — if the House succeeds in turning the president’s request into a measure aimed directly at security then we may take a big step toward improving border security. Rather than arguing about doing border security first, the next Congress can look back on border security measures already enacted, assess their effectiveness and then — perhaps — move forward on other parts of immigration reform.

Three other components in the immigration equation have also changed in ways that may promote comprehensive reform. First, legalization and not citizenship is being widely accepted on the Democratic side — at least for now. (SNIP) And third, midterms and pesky right-wing primary challenges will be in the rear view mirror.

Rubin is wrong on the pesky challengers. There is some strong third party candidates running. Also these greedy Congressman don't just want to win in 2014, most of them want to stay in office for a decade for their egos. That is part of the reason, some of these congress members have big egos and think they have brilliant ideas they want to at least try to get passed under a GOP president.

Rubin is the voice of the GOPe.

No sense of emergency, nothing to indicate that she understands the nation hangs in the balance and we are about to lose it all.

Nope, its all about the politics & will the GOP take the senate.

And oh by the way after that lets get 'comprehensive immigration reform' passed.

REFORM
MIGRANTS

They keep using those words but I don’t think they mean what they think they mean.

Allow illegal aliens to run for Congress. The border would be closed shut the day after.

Here is my comment on the WaPo article:

The president is failing in his most basic constitutional duty, to protect the nation from invasion. Why? Because his goal is to “fundamentally transform” the United States into his nightmare vision of a socialist “utopia” by leaving the borders wide open to invasion, after promising amnesty to any “dreamer” who crosses the border. The “fundamental transformation” will be accomplished by importing tens of millions of illiterate non-English-speakers who can’t spell Constitution and don’t care what it says, but who are coming for free food (EBT), housing (section 8), medical care (Obamacare) and education. This will guarantee the democrat party a permanent voting block of parasites and leaches, tipping every election their way. Literally, this is “voter replacement,” erasing the votes of conservative Americans with millions of new welfare voters, permanently beholden to the democrats.

U.S. Constitution, Article 4 section 4: “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion.”

We should do border security then evaluate and address the problem of the ships and buses necessary to take all these peopleback across the border. Make it Mexico’s problem. Mexico has cooperated whole heartedly with the Uniparty and the Chamber of Commerce to shift all these Central Americans to Texas. Give them back to Mexico. Eisenhower did it. He sent shiploads back to Mexico. Many others self deported when they saw the handwriting on the wall.

Give all the kids a math test. Those that can fit into the top 50 percentile for their age(in the US) should get to stay after a 3 month return(summer) to their country of origin. We’ll take the achievers and look good in the process. If they’re good in math the English will follow. Those that fail? Expose them as the riff raft.
