The Kansas Supreme Court on Friday overturned death sentences for Jonathan and Reginald Carr, brothers convicted of murdering five people in one of Wichitas most notorious crime sprees.
The states high court in separate rulings issued Friday unanimously struck down three of each mans four capital murder convictions in the Dec. 15, 2000, execution-style killings of four people in a snow-covered soccer field. A remaining capital murder conviction for each man was upheld by the court, but the death sentence connected to it was vacated after a 6-1 majority said the district court judge who presided over the brothers trial the late Paul W. Clark was in error when he refused to hold separate sentencing proceedings for the men.
Justice Nancy Mortiz disagreed with the decision, saying that separate hearings would not have influenced the outcome because witness testimony, the unusually egregious facts of the case and evidence against the Carr brothers was so strong...

Do you finally, at long last, understand that your Owners are mocking you daily, peasants?
If peasants want justice in this country, work to spring the perps yourselves.
Then they can just disappear...
As we say around here, “There is no law West of the Kaw”
The clown “judges” are going to keep this crap up and it won’t be long before Americans start dealing out “justice” to these animals.
Aren’t these the same scumbags that made the brother/sister have relations with one another before murdering them?
As long as the brothers continue to be behind bars forever, the liberal hand-wringing to excuse black-on-white hate crimes just wastes more taxpayer money.
Wouldn’t that be “south of the Kaw”? I’m just saying...
This was another horrific crime the media covered up. Here’s another...
the mugshots of these two arrogant pukes...made it all too apparent that they were SURE they would never face ole Sparky!!
Try posting in English next time...
well, I don’t think so, I am in Kansas City
I watched this trial on CourtTV. I’ll never forget it.
These monsters tortured the victims before killing them one by one, in front of each other.
The victims were sodomized so forcefully, they had deep rug burns on their knees.
After slaughtering these kids, they went back to the home of one of the victims and tortured and slaughtered the family dog.
The prosecutor cried when describing the crime.
The judges, that is.
Leftists want us all dead - anyone who threatens normal Americans is their ally.
Okay, but Wichita is south of the Kaw. The Kaw runs east-west. Wichita is in the county next to the “s” in “Arkansas” (Arkansas River) on this map:
Isn’t that way down south of the Kaw?
I bet Hillary! would have gotten them off in the first place........and then laughed about it.
Jonathan Carr, now 34, and Reginald Carr, 36, were in their 20s when the crimes occurred.
On Dec. 7, The Carr brothers car-jacked Andrew Schreiber, a former Wichita State baseball player and honor student. He was forced at gunpoint to drive around east Wichita, withdrawing money from ATMs before being released unharmed. His captors fired a bullet into his car tire.
On Dec. 11, Ann Walenta, a cellist with the Wichita Symphony, was critically shot during a carjacking attempt. She died of her wounds on Jan. 2, 2001.
The brothers were convicted in 2002 of terrorizing, robbing, sexually assaulting, kidnapping and murdering a group of young people on Dec. 15, 2000, as part of a seven-day crime spree across Wichita.
Jason Befort, 26, Brad Heyka, 27, Aaron Sander, 29, and Heather Muller, 25, were killed in an execution-style shooting after being forced to kneel in a frozen soccer field at 29th Street North and Greenwich.
A fifth victim, a 25-year-old woman who was shot in the back of the head and left for dead, survived and ran naked through the snow to a nearby house for help. Her escape tipped off a manhunt for the killers, who were arrested later that day. She later became a key witness at the brothers trial.
Just your average ‘sons of Obama’
It loops around in Kansas City and forms part of the Missouri western border, so basically what the saying means, I heard it from another lawyer older than I am, is there is no law west of the Missouri border
You believed what a lawyer told you? (snicker; just kidding).
The Carrs are long past their expiration date.
From Wikipedia.... “The Carr brothers, 22-year-old Reginald and 20-year-old Jonathan, already had lengthy criminal records when they began their spree. On December 8, 2000, having recently arrived in Wichita, they committed armed robbery against 23-year-old assistant baseball coach, Andrew Schreiber. Three days later, they shot and mortally wounded 55-year-old cellist and librarian, Ann Walenta, as she tried to escape from them in her car; she died three days later.
Their crime spree culminated on December 14, when they invaded a home and subjected five young men and women to robbery, sexual abuse, and murder. The brothers broke into a house chosen nearly at random where Brad Heyka, Heather Muller, Aaron Sander, Jason Befort and his girlfriend, a young woman identified as ‘H.G.’, all in their twenties, were spending the night. They initially scoured the house for valuables. In a much-remarked point of tragedy, H.G. learned of Befort’s intent to propose marriage when the Carrs, by chance, discovered the engagement ring hidden in a can of popcorn. After the search, the Carrs forced their hostages to strip naked, bound and detained them, and subjected them to various forms of sexual humiliation, including rape and oral sex. They also forced the men to engage in sexual acts with the women, and the women with each other. They then drove the victims to ATMs to empty their bank accounts, before finally taking them to a snowy deserted soccer complex on the outskirts of town and shooting them execution-style in the backs of their heads, leaving them for dead. The Carr brothers then drove Befort’s truck over the bodies.
They returned to the house to ransack it for more valuables, and in the process killed Nikki, H.G.’s muzzled dog. H.G. survived because her metal barrette deflected the bullet, and ran naked for more than a mile in freezing weather to report the attack and seek medical attention.
The Carr brothers, who took few precautions, were captured by the police the next day, and Reginald was identified by Schreiber and the dying Walenta. “.................This was a gruesome crime. I would take to the streets like Jesse does when he doesn’t like a verdict and demand this be over turned if this was my loved one that was killed. God please comfort the families of those slain.......the rest of my feelings I can not type.
our masters can overrule anything they want...they’ll find a reason......they are not the ones suffering at the hands of violent crime....they are carefully secreted behind gated communities and their offspring sprinted off to private schools...
lol yeah well what can I say
It is good to fear the sword of the state, for it has its purpose.
Well, hell’s coming and it may not be too far away....
What these liberal leftists have wrought will catch up when the American people reach the tipping point....
Probably has something to do with the Carr brothers treatment of them as well as the legal system's treatment of the Carrs.
Those five young people in Wichita, Kansas chose "active compliance." . . . When it first occurred, only the Wichita Eagle paid attention to the alleged crimes of the Carr brothers. Our webzine, FrontPageMagazine.com discovered the story about a month later and published it on the Internet, whereupon it rapidly became a cause celebre but only on the Internet and in conservative papers such as The Washington Times. You will not see Tom Brokaw, Dan Rather or Peter Jennings talking about this crime. . . Focusing on "hate crimes" committed by white people might be good for a journalists career. But it gives the public a very inaccurate view of what is actually happening on the street . . . .
One place where the public could get an accurate report on inter-racial crime was the Department of Justice National Crime Victimization Survey. I have extracted and posted several times the stats for 1995 - 2008. But no longer. It appears that the Obama / Holder Dept. of Just Us and Our People refuses to publish the survey data. However the FBI still lists the race of the criminal but there is no mention of the victims' race.
BTW I recall this Wichita crime when it happened. During the trial some whites gathered outside the court house demanding justice. There was an AP report calling those people racists. I emailed the AP employee stating that I hoped that one day she would experience exactly what those victims went through.
So Kansas and Sedgwick County will go through a second round of separate trials for these now-convicted murderers to satisfy the Kansas Supreme Court that these brothers deserve the death penalty. Wunderbar!
It figures. Next thing you know they will be on the streets again. Next time you will hear about them is when they start doing what they do so well again.
When the time comes there won’t be enough rope for all of these journalists.
No pictures on this thread yet - I’m guessing sons of Obama if, that is Obama had sons.
The time has come for the re-incarnation of
Texas John (Horton) Slaughter.
The man who cleaned up Tombstone.
A man so fearsome that **Geronimo** - leader of the Bedonkohe Apache - made a wide path around John’s town, because he knew that if ever John got his track, he was as good as dead.
John once famously said -
“I’ve got a guardian angel who protects me,” he would assure well-meaning friends when they sought to caution him about his reckless and daring life-style. “My angel keeps these owl hoots and gunslicks from even denting me. He has told me that I’ll die in bed when I’m good and ready, and not by the hand of some no good outlaw.”
And indeed, he did die in bed at his ranch.
The justices probably considered this high art protected by the Constitution.
Life without parole. Done.
For a fraction of the cost a death sentence is certain to cost.
Now in the olden days they would be decorating a lamp post in the morning.
People didn’t put up with this back then. Unfortunately they would often get the wrong man.
I believe the moral thing to do at this point would be to pardon them both and set them free.
Nature will then be free to take its course. Who knows, they might even wind up in garbage bags in a dumpster? Not that I would encourage such a thing.
>If peasants want justice in this country, work to spring the perps yourselves.
That won’t work because the perps are too well protected in prison.
And it doesn’t get at the “root” of the problem.
But if the people took it upon themselves to “impeach” the judges, that might have some effect.
Their homes can never be so secure without becoming prisons.
Good speech... what came of it?... absoutely nothing..
APATHY?... maybe.. All conservative voices of candidates were defeated and a known collaborator with democrats was selected.. (2012)
Change by law was possible 30 years ago... NOT NOW...
Voting mechanisms have been corrupted.. the system is broken..
Working within the system is a diversion to gain time..
For a complete take over by the leftists..
As of 2014.. it’s a done deal..
ONLY BLOOD can change things..
This one was not a hate crime either, of course.
As best I can figure the Obama / Holder Department of Just Us and Our People no longer permit the tables showing interracial crimes. Here's why.
Table 42: "Percent distribution of single-offender victimizations, by type of crime, race of victim, and perceived race of offender"
|Year of Stats||Total
|Race of Victims||% White
|44,890||Black||13.5 *||80.2||6.3 *|
|43,890||Black||0.0 *||93.7||6.3 *|
|47,430||Black||7.2 *||68.9||23.9 *|
|67,890||Black||0.0 *||79.3||20.7 *|
