Colorado woman's quest for jihad baffles neighbors

To those who knew her, Shannon Maureen Conley was a bright teenager lost in middle-class suburbia who went searching for love and purpose.

She thought she found it half a world away with a Tunisian man 13 years her senior who promised marriage and holy war. The plan went only as far as Denver International Airport, where Conley was arrested in April as she tried to board a plane to support Islamic fighters in Syria.

Conley told the FBI she was determined to be "defending Muslims on the Muslim homeland against people who are trying to kill them." If that was illegal, she added, she "would rather be in prison than do nothing."

The 19-year-old Colorado woman is now under federal indictment, charged with conspiracy to aid Islamic State, the extremist military force with ties to Al Qaeda that has been on the march across Iraq and Syria.

Sad waste of a young life. Her “suitor” probably intended to strap a bomb on her and drop her off somewhere.

That is plan B. Plan A is Jesus. http://www.answering-islam.org/Testimonies/

You can’t always get what you want
but if you try sometime
you just might find
you get what you need

A burka and veil would definitely improve her looks. I can’t remember which Rule of Limbaugh applies here but one of them does apply!

Given her age, there is NO REASON that any decent parent wouldn’t advise her to stay clear of that lifestyle.

It’s understandable why she would be drawn to, though. She’s probably surrounded by a bunch of METROSEXUALS telling her just how great the gun-grab was last year in that state, and how wonderful weed and gay marriage is. Then she meets a guy who, like it or not, acts LIKE A MAN, and she’s drawn to him.

But...where’s the parenting?

Google jihad-al-nikah. It is what she was going for.

Her parents sound as if they tried.

But I’d say, judging from the article, that she had some sort of psychotic episode but her parents and her school missed the opportunity to intervene and she is now completely delusional. The school bent over backwards trying to accommodate her when she started wearing Islamic dress and praying in the bathroom...they should have referred her for psychological testing.

Not all that baffling really, the girl just wants what we all want, love and a purpose,

This is mostly that she is simply young and naive and it could have taken her life and still may at some point,

But where it baffles is because there is another overriding element to consider here, a spiritual one, where the USA can be attacked by this same evil demonic spirit on 9/11 and then surprisingly a weaker part of those attacked begin to increasingly embrace it, when our natural mind says it should have made it much more difficult to gain any traction at all or to obtain any new adherents here,

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12

This is how principalities and powers make inroads into new places where they have little authority, they are territorial, and once they gain a foothold they can continue to increase their strength,

Believers are given the means to fight them, and we must come to understand that we are all in a war whether we knowingly take sides or not. Jesus tells us Satan’s kingdom is not divided despite the contrary appearance from outside,

“And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19

Spirits have time, unlike how we think about it individually and they can work slowly and over many generations,

But at the close of the age they will come to understand they no longer have much time left and so how they operate will necessarily speed up, intensify

“Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” Revelation 12:12

They should’ve let her go to wherever she planned.

Better that she blow herself up somewhere else than inside this country.

OK, she's not great looking and obviously retarded, but what exactly has she actually done to have been indicted?

Because if she is up on charges, half of Congress and the haram in the WH should be too.

I guess her lack of pigmentation was a deciding factor in the decision to file a criminal complaint.

Sounds like a case of pedophile making the kid feel guilty. Typical Islam recruit technique via blackmail and brainwash

LOL...I know what you’re saying, but I’m not sure the school would have come out looking very good, given today’s media.
