You don’t suppose that these robots will be programed to indoctrinate children with big-government propaganda, do you?

I'm reminded of the Harry Harlow Wire/Cloth Monkey experiments. Looks like FedGov is going with the Wire Monkey; ensuring a new generation of dysfunctional, frightened adults.

The character of the people in charge when robots come to fruition will be key to the future of humanity.

If those of low virtue are in control, robots can be a means of oppression beyond anything known before - constantly present with built in lie detectors and a suite of monitoring and tracking tools - one assigned to each individual. Genocide could be conducted in hours, or even minutes, via a wireless software update. Parents could be dispensed with entirely, and children raised knowing only what they are told by the robot controllers.

If those of good character are in control robots could protect people and their liberty.

It is the people using robots that are the real threat.

Your link was interesting. I think it is pitiful, not to mention eerie, if we need a “family robot” like Jibo around.

The major constitutional problem wih this project is that the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to tax and spend for such a project.
