This should not be news, for Islam has its goal of imposing itself on the entire world, or placing those who refuse (and who survive) under a “tax” which is really an annual ransom for your life even as they would deny you almost all civil rights as an infidel.

The hard reality is that Islam desires to conquer the world and thus the secular world may not be interested in Islam, but Islam sure as hell (to borrow a phrase) is interested in them. The Christian world is just now waking up to this and it is conservative Christians who get it the most now.
As to liberals, the 9/11/2001 attack shows their mentality and world view. Immediately after the attack, they were in shock as much as anyone else, but notice the “half-life” on their rational evaluation of Islam. It wasn’t but a few days and we started to see liberal whines about how much the US deserved to be attacked.
At the moment, liberals are favorably inclined about Islam because they don’t see it as affecting them and they see it as a way to destroy the influence of Christianity by dilution and counter-balance. Also at the moment, western-savvy Islamists at organizations like CAIR are able to play liberals like a fiddle. Well, in liberal-speak, that is not “sustainable”. The patina and varnish that covers the lies can only last so long, even for a person who is in active denial. Sooner or later some Islamist will jump the gun, and kill one too many innocents, maybe even one to many prominent liberals. Then the liberal switch will flip and they will see Islam, at least for a while, for what it really is and some liberals will even understand that Islam will be coming to amputate their sex-saturated lifestyles first.
In the end, as the Hamas charter says, this is a religious struggle. A virulent religious force in society can only be countered by another religious force. I strongly suspect that as much as Euro-elites hate the Roman Church, as they have done a number of times in the past thousand years, they will once again call upon her to help them to regain control over the culture and repel Islam. As to what happens in the US, I don’t know.
The Islamic theologian Syed Abul A’ala Maududi left no doubt about Islam’s ultimate goals when he said: “Islam wishes to destroy all states and governments anywhere on the face of the earth which are opposed to the ideology and program of Islam regardless of the country or the nation which rules it. The purpose of Islam is to set up a state on the basis of its own ideology and program.”
