Another red line crossed? As AP reports, Obama administration officials were fuming Monday over a torrent of Israeli criticism of Secretary of State John Kerry's latest bid to secure a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas. Israeli media commentators have leveled almost nonstop criticism at Kerry in recent days over his attempts to bring Qatar and Turkey two countries viewed by Israel as strong Hamas supporters into the cease-fire negotiations - "U.S. Secretary of State of State John Kerry ruined everything." The White House is not happy - in unusually harsh language, officials said the criticism of Kerry could put the relationship between the U.S. and Israel in jeopardy. They also said the personal attacks on Kerry crossed a line.
As AP reports,
Obama administration officials were fuming Monday over a torrent of Israeli criticism of Secretary of State John Kerry's latest bid to secure a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas.
In unusually harsh language, officials said the criticism of Kerry could put the relationship between the U.S. and Israel in jeopardy. They also said the personal attacks on Kerry crossed a line and were particularly disappointing at a time of active conflict.
Israeli media commentators have leveled almost nonstop criticism at Kerry in recent days over his attempts to bring Qatar and Turkey two countries viewed by Israel as strong Hamas supporters into the cease-fire negotiations. Kerry was also being accused of abandoning some of Israel's key demands during the negotiations.
In trying to implement the cease-fire over the weekend, "U.S. Secretary of State of State John Kerry ruined everything," wrote columnist Ari Shavit in Monday's Haaretz, Israel's leading liberal newspaper. "Very senior officials in Jerusalem described the proposal that Kerry put on the table as a 'strategic terrorist attack'."
U.S. frustration with Israel seeped into the White House's readout of a phone call Sunday between President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The White House said Obama told Netanyahu that the U.S. had "serious and growing concern" about the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza. He also called to an "immediate, unconditional humanitarian cease-fire," according to the White House.
Is there anyone in the world who is not mocking John Kerry?
Depends on who gets to write it.
In other words, Valerie is pissed off!
But I won't hold my breath.
U.S. frustration with Israel seeped into the White House’s readout...
1. Despots know they have a window of opportunity to attack our “friends” until Jan of 2017.
2. Our friends know that we will not come to their aid, so they must do what is best in their interests regardless of what the US wants.
Nuymber two is causing the US’s “frustration”.
It changes the formula. If we had been here a few years ago, Israel most definitely would have attacked Iran. And all that that implies...
We are living in interesting times.
Well, hasn’t Kambodia Kerry ‘ruined everything’ in his entire life? What else is new? ;-)
Way to go, Lurch.
JFnK's response was predictable: "Rrrrrrrrraaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhhh"
Israel will feel like they have to go-it-alone which means, possibly, using their nukes (at some point). It may become use it or lose it.
No one wants Nuclear War in the Middle East including Kerry and Obama.
ANYTHING to avoid admitting that John Kerry is a vile, stupid, incompetent, low-life, fool.
My husband had him as a passenger on a private jet right when the “Help us, we’re stuck in Iraq” thing was exploding.
Oy Kerry is such an idiot. But, as I was saying, the grass is green and the sky is blue....
The Common Core Curricula and Teachers’ Unions will establish a favorable accounting of this moron’s legacy. I’m certain of this. School children will be raised to consider Obama on par with MLK and Lincoln. A holiday will be created, and if you resist any of this you know what they’ll label you.
At one point in time I would have agreed with your last statement.
Based on their repeated, continuous behavior towards Israel, however, I don’t think they CARE if there is nuclear war in the Middle east, as long as they can blame it on Israel.
“”They also said the personal attacks on Kerry crossed a line.””
Please tell us what the personal attacks were. Or is that like everything else coming from this WH - outright lies???
There was indeed a “red line” that was crossed. Only it was one drawn by Israel, and the Israelis mean it when they raise their voices.
Jean-Francois Kerre` is the one that blundered over that red line. Now even the Egyptians do not respect him.
If there is to be a damper put on the emotions in the Middle East, the initiatives would almost certainly have to come from Vladimir Putin. The Current Regime has, if not zero credibility, pretty close to zero.
RATS want a democracy.
I seem to remember a good analogy about democracy from Ben Franklin, that went something like: Ask the sheep how he feels about being a part of a democracy where the 2 wolves voting about what was for dinner.
Kerry is a two faced publicity hound. He screwed
the Vietnam soldiers by joining the NVA against
SVN. One can only hope I live long enough to
See him get his pompous arse whipped.
You might be right. They might be that stupid.
And so stupid, that if it does happen, they won’t realize that it was their actions that caused it and as usual they will blame the victim — Israel.
Kerry has a history of showboat negotiations with the enemy. Nothing new here ....
Maybe that's what he was supposed to do......................
Actually, I think they WILL realize it was their actions that caused it.
I do not think they are stupid (well, Obama, anyway - Kerry is as dumb as a sack of cowsh*t). I DO think they are evil.
~~~Obama administration officials were fuming Monday over a torrent of Israeli criticism of Secretary of State John Kerry’s latest bid to secure a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas~~~
Hahahahahahahahahahaha ... ow, my side ... hahahahahahaha.
Their double-talk ain’t workin’. Hilarious.
Are you SURE those are not pictures of John Warner?
“No one wants Nuclear War in the Middle East including Kerry and Obama”
This may not necessarily be true. Depends on which side is speaking.
Well HOPEFULLY the Jewish people will stop voting democrap after this...
Maybe we should annex Israel and install Bibi in the WH???
John Focking Kerry is as useless as mams on a bull.
You know, there seems to be some substance in the old adage that liberalism is a mental disease. Here we have the arrogant John Kerry, whose paternal grandparents were Jewish immigrants who became Christians ‘to assimilate into the American scene’, and now Kerry is all in for the liberal anti=Semitic treatment of Israel, which is ‘go jump in the lake and drown’.
The Current Regime has, if not zero credibility, pretty close to zero.....I read LeMonde, DerSpiegel and other English translated newspapers since Obama got in and blacked out all news. I remember the French saying (paraphrasing) “ Oh shit! This guy is an idiot”, the Germans pointing out there will be no place safe on Earth, and a Scandanavian newspaper saying “Well, at least we won’t be involved, hopefully.” Over the years I’ve known we are being hated, ridiculed and VERY largely ignored because of Obama.
Will ruin the US / Israeli relationship. So, Obama gets his chance to turn on Israel. I’m waiting for Israel to stand alone. Then the Lord will come and smite some people.
A lot of the American Jews who vote Democrap are not particularly supportive of Israel so it won't move them.
That's why he got the job.
You mean they are going to try to fix Israel like they fixed Egypt, Syria, Libya, Iraq, Trashcanistan...
You have to feel a little sorry for those schmucks in the Gaza.
Pray America wakes up
“immediate, unconditional humanitarian cease-fire,”
Aren’t those the words commonly used for a surrender document?
Which is what Obama..this is part of his “Transformation” that he was talking about..destroying US relations with Israel is what he wants..to totally isolate Israel..Remember, in 2008 Obama got plenty of money from Hamas donated to his campaign..that is something the kiss ass Obama media never reported on
A few weeks ago, Angela Merkel of Germany kicked one of our CIA agents out of her country for spying, and her approval rating is now 71%.
Obama and John Kerry are so unpopular around the world that few countries want to have anything to do with them.
Israel has been no exception, even before the Gaza war
However, because of Benjamin Netanyahu’s compassion, John Kerry has been able to spend most of his time in Israel pretending to be Secretary of State by announcing futile Israeli-Palestinian peace plans.
In contrast, John Kerry’s attempts to meet with other less compassionate heads of state have often ended in humiliation. For example, Vladimir Putin kept John Kerry waiting for three hours before meeting with him in the Kremlin, and Dilma Rousseff of Brazil practically kicked John Kerry out of her country due to the NSA’s spying on her private phone calls.
Yet now we see the thanks Benjamin Netanyahu gets for making Israel a haven where John Kerry could hide from the real world yet still seem to be carrying on with diplomacy.
Where will John Kerry go for the remainder of his term, now that the Israelis have finally had enough of his foolishness and betrayals? If he enjoys his favorite sports like wind-surfing as much as Obama enjoys golfing, maybe he’ll take long vacations away from his job, and the world will be all the better for it.
john “the traitor” skerry should be exiled from America because he is such a clueless pompous ass...exiled to gaza.
Was John Kerry in Vietnam???
Wouldht blame them to hit the obamma administration..he is their enemy..we need this treasonous userper removed.the day is soon coming we the people will have to physically remove him or lose our freedom.
I believe the correct saying is “as worthless as tits on a boar.” - coming to you from an octogenarian.
but you are right on!
Kerry was chosen by Obama because of the anti American beliefs he has exhibited since 1971, at least. That’s when I started hating him. My feelings toward him are more intense now.
