Confused Cats Against Feminism: Feline Views on Gender Equality

Anti-feminist blogs have been getting a lot of attention recently, as all manner of people take to the internet to explain why they just don’t need it. But right now it’s not people who are leading the debate – it’s cats

Women Against Feminism was set up last summer and has gained a lot of attention in the past few weeks. On the Tumblr site [sample content: “The very name ‘feminism’ is discriminatory … To say that only through women can equal rights be claimed is like saying that only through black people can people have rights”], there are photos of women holding up handwritten or typed messages of why they don’t need feminsm. “I don’t need feminism because my boyfriend treats me right,” reads one. A manicured hand holds up another that says: “I don’t need feminism because … I like men looking at me when I look good. That’s why I do this”.

I love that so many in the younger generation get it.

… women are still frequently paid less for the same work,…

That's in one of the comments in the article, and it irritates me. This line is frequently used, but feminists ignore the fact that many women get paid the same salary as men while relying on a man to get the job done. I've observed this myself in various jobs I've held over many decades. Women who ask me to lift heavy items into place, although it is supposed to be one of the job requirements for the title they hold. Example: racking servers into equipment cabinets. Women who ask me to do dirty tasks that are supposed to be job requirements. Example: pulling wires through under computer room floor tiles. Etc. Men get threatened with being fired for not doing tasks that women are given a pass on for neglecting the tasks. I wouldn't care except they spread this stereotype of getting less pay in some instances without showing offsetting examples.

I poured a glass of water for the cat and a cup of coffee for myself, opened the morning window for cat two... then we enjoyed this kitty ping. I think I will have the shed poster enlarged for their um, room. Technically, we still call it the guest room, but everyone knows their place in this house. Gotta run.. cats need breakfast.

They take more time off too, plus most of them refuse overtime.

If it is narrowed down to the exact same job and the exact same effort/number of hours, women get equal pay.

“… women are still frequently paid less for the same work,…”

An issue which, if you read about or were apart of the anti-feminist movement, you would know is for perfectly good reasons. One of them being that most women cannot take on (or refuse to do so) work involving lots of physical labor and high risks. Men are compensated for both accordingly, which is as it should be.
