H.A.M.A.S. Hides Amongst Mosques And Schools. What sweet irony it would be if just ONE Hamas missile goes haywire and makes a direct hit on the alAqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Divine Intervention!
Jon’s pretty good at playing a real %#&@ in Ray Donovan.
Just watched Voigt’s brilliant performance in “Deliverance.” A very great actor and a true patriot. And a handsome devil, too! And he’s from NY State - Yonkers, I believe!
I’ve always had trouble staying awake through Deliverance.
Love him in Conrack. Movie about a school teacher teaching black children.
Odessa File, another one of his good movies.
Oh, yeah, it’s a real bore. Oh, God, deliver me from my fellow freepers...
On another note for other freepers reading my little post, I just read the hilarious comments following the You Tube video: clowns keep calling the New Yorker Voigt a “redneck” - apparently because they can’t tell the difference between a movie role and an actor.
Conrack is my favorite of his roles - he’s so young in that movie and it’s so very moving. Also, it has a hilarious performance by the great Hume Cronyn as his racist boss.
That’s a great movie. I just watched it on Netflix.
I usually don’t give a lot of credence to the words of Hollywood types who speak out on political issues but I think it means a lot more when one does so against conventional thinking of his peers. he doesn’t give a damn what they think, he is standing up for what is right and I applaud him for it.
Odessa File is one of my favorites.
James Wood ( who I’m proud to say follows me on Twitter) is another good guy.
Jon Voigt already has an Academy Award. He does not have to kiss Hollywood ass.
remember the bad ol’ days when Libs would call conservatives “Nazis”... and would get away with it with help fromt heir friends in the Lame Stream media...
Looking back that was one heck of a case of complete and total projection on the Libs part...
In any case, he is a solid conservative now.
Yes, I do believe Jon Voigt was a liberal in his youth. That’s why I was surprised at the turn around - which has gone on for many years now. People change; I was once a lib.
Same thing happen to James Wood, I think he changed after reporting the pre 911 dry run on board the plane he was on.
That’s right. People change - and sometimes even for the better! Just checked Jon’s Wikipedia entry which had lots of fascinating tidbits about his very action-packed life, lol.
I just caught that. It is very accurate. I can't wait to share it with my Israel hating liberal friends.
Are you saying this car was once owned by Jon Voight?
Conrack was very good.
Maybe he should run for office—we had good luck with another actor once.
Senator Voight has a good ring to it. Nice if he would run for senator of NY. Might even have a chance of winning.
My memory is that he went to Stepinac HS in White Plains. Knew a LOT of Stepinac guys back in the day (unfortunately, not Voigt)
Yes, Catholic schooling although he lived in Yonkers and went to school in White Plains. A thousand years ago I saw him walking down 5th Avenue - possibly the tallest man I had ever seen!
What a lunatic show!
Ridin around in Jon Voight’s car...
By all means, please do. Hope it goes viral.
One of John Voight’s earliest roles was when he played a young hot-headed punk in one of the Naked City episodes back in the early 60’s.
I have all the Naked Citys on dvd. Great show. I’ll see if I can find him - Wikipedia or IMDB probably has the season and episode #. He must have been really young - he looks so young in Conrack.
One reason I like watching that show (on MeTV, but it’s only once a week, Monday mornings at 2:00AM) we lived in DaBronx at that time, brings back memories. Especially the shows from the 1962 season. The Pontiacs Harry Bellaver and Paul Burke drove in those shows were just like the 62 Catalina my dear old Dad had. I learned how to drive on that car. :)
My husband grew up in the Bronx at the same time. You must watch Car 54 since that was shot in the Bronx as well.
YES! Car 54, where are you? They used the old elementary school on City Island as the police station. Years ago, I met some of the cast at a car show and oldies concert at Orchard Beach.
That and Bilko are my two favorite NY shows. Nat Hiken, a genius.
