President Obama still plans to convene a three-day summit in Washington for leaders of African countries even though the continent is experiencing an outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus, a White House spokesman said Wednesday.
“We have no plans to change any elements of the U.S.-Africa summit as we believe all air travel continues to be safe here,” principal deputy press secretary Eric Schultz told reporters aboard Air Force One on Wednesday.

Air travel may be safe but the people on the airplanes might not be. Better idea would be for BO to go there for the meeting and take 100 of his closest advisors and associates with him.
This is insanity. Any of these Africans from countries with the epidemic should not leave until it's under control.

I read in an African newspaper that the Liberian government plans to send the vice president instead.
Which makes it all better and stuff.
The opinions of some political media hack are largely irrelevant to the recommended regimens of infections disease containment.
I work a few blocks from the White House. This summit is going to do very nasty things to traffic. Just thought I’d throw that in. Grumbling.
But who says Obama will attend the meeting?
He can always use closed circuit communication.
Kind of like, we have to open Pandora’s box to see what’s in it. Liberals don’t want to offend anyone, they would rather have Americans die of Ebola than be insensitive to Africa.
