Police: Do Not Call Us if Facebook Is Down (911 Inundated; FEMA Needed)
WFSB ^ | Aug 01, 2014 | Rob Polansky

Posted on 08/01/2014 2:13:17 PM PDT by nickcarraway

An officer from Los Angeles County took to Twitter on Friday when Facebook users called for help to report that the social media website was down.

Sgt. Burton Brink, the public information officer in La Crescenta, CA, posted a Tweet reminding people about the reasons for calling them for help.

"#Facebook is not a Law Enforcement issue, please don't call us about it being down, we don't know when FB will be back up!" he wrote.

Users who tried to get on Facebook around noon EST were greeted with an apology.

"Sorry, something went wrong. We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can," the site posted.

A message posted by a Facebook's developer around noon said the site "is currently experiencing an issue that is affecting all API and web surfaces. Our engineers detected the issue quickly and are working to resolve it ASAP. We'll update shortly."

Facebook returned about an hour later.

I wish it were. I don’t see many of the phone zombies even surviving more than a few days without their “lifelines.” I’m leaning toward a “Road Warrior” type of distopian future.

Well, it’s a natural assumption. Facebook is funneling their users’ private data to LEOs and government agencies, so the fine citizens of CA did their civic duty in reporting that Facebook was offline.

Now watch next week, when Facebook has a public offering of prefered stock and other equity options. Just maybe, after this ‘taking the candy from the baby’ tease by Facebook, just maybe the interest in financially seizing a piece of the Great Facebook Monolith will have been piqued.
Some people were in a complete red panic.

911, forsooth—something this dire deserves a call-up of the national guard.

It explains a little more how Obambi is still polling at 40% favorable...the idiot electorate is too busy lighting up the 911 lines to let the police know that they can’t ‘like’ something on Facebook...

More like if FR, WRSA, Drudge, SipseyStreet, Codrea, APN & SHTFPlan are down....

Then it’s all hands on deck & “Wagon’s HO”

FR has been down enough for me to know not to hit the panic button until all other usual suspects are offline.

That’s the time to panic :-)

Symptom of the dysfunctional and self-obsessed society that now spans between our borders.

Is this article for real or is it sarcasm?

Nostradamus predicted this in his 495th quatrain:

A man yclept BurgerZuck,
Will bring a speaking cluck,
To many millions & c.,
A social media spree.

It will go down in El Lay,
On a certain Day,
Nine Hundred plus ten and one,
Will deal with urgency connected to the Zuck one.
