Part One: Can a Free Biafra Stop the African Islamic Caliphate?
In the classic comedy, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," the daughter Toula complains to her mother about her stubborn father being the "head of the house," Maria replied, "Let me tell you something, Toula. The man is the head, but the woman is the neck. And she can turn the head any way she wants."
Welcome to America, "We the People" are supposed to be informed and in control, but the media is the "neck," she can turn the focus of Americans to what it wants them to see and believe.
Ever since news programs were required to pay their own way, market share and advertisers who want to reach those viewers took control of what news gets into our homes on mainline media news shows. If it bleeds, it leads. The only requirement is that they have video footage. Whether it's domestic violence in your city or war carnage around the world, we see what gets the eyeballs of viewers to watch.
If the media can get that video from a citizen's smart phone or from a reporter on the front of breaking war, we are drawn to see what is "really" happening first hand. The media wants what sells.
So with violent Jihadist terrorists burning churches and killing Christians who refuse to convert to Islam in Syria, Iraq and Nigeria, why isn't the Western media sending images of that carnage into your home every night?
The first reason is understandable. Islamic Jihadists will not just kill Christians and moderate Muslims. They will kill any media they can get to that in any way tells a story they do not want told. Reporters and cameramen have been raped and killed. The media "neck" turns our attention to conflicts where the media can safely have access.
We are being fed 24-7 coverage of the conflict in Gaza, because they know that Israel targets its attacks on Jihadists and does everything possible to spare innocent civilians...AND the media covering that war.
The media needs carnage for their nightly news. Only Israel's commitment to spare as many citizens as possible and the joy Hamas has in showing the media any examples of where they fail gives them what they want.
But that does not explain why the media rails against the collateral damage and deaths attributed to Israel's "immoral war" against Gaza while failing to adequately cover the barrage of missile strikes by Hamas that started the war, the UN schools and Mosques that hide weapons and tunnels, and the actions by Hamas that have broken ceasefire after ceasefire.
The reported 1,400 deaths in Gaza are regrettable, but they are a direct result of the actions of the terrorist government that is responsible for their safety and their future. In addition, there is no attempt by the media to provide any perspective of the horrors of any war in the modern age.
When the Western allies carpet bombed Dresden, Germany in 1945, an estimated 25,000 civilians were killed. When America dropped two atomic bombs on Japan, within the first two-to-four months of the bombings, the acute effects killed 90,000166,000 people in Hiroshima and 60,00080,000 in Nagasaki. Roughly half of the deaths in each city occurred on the first day. With those numbers of innocents dying, was not America "immoral?" War is hell, now and then.
If our media is going to turn "the neck" of American citizens to cover the war in Gaza, at least they should do their job of providing balanced coverage. They should stop letting the Jihadists' strategy of using citizens as shields cause them to lose sight of who is primarily responsible for the carnage.
Never before has America been more in need of a responsible, fair media in understanding the numerous hot spots around the world. Demand that your media give you balanced coverage on Gaza and ask them to start covering the violent attacks on Christians throughout the Middle East and Africa.
Until they do, stay informed yourself. Start by listening to the first of three interviews of Nnamdi Kanu, the Director of Radio Biafra, on Townhall.com as he addresses: "Can a Free Biafra Stop the African Islamic Caliphate?"
This is impotence on steroids. Demand that the mainstream media provide balanced, fair coverage? You might as well demand chastity in a bordello.
Agreed. The MSM is advancing its own liberal agenda, and it is madness to expect any sort of "fair" coverage on any issue.
If the MSM gave Obama the GWB treatment, he would be on his way out the door by now and probably wouldn't have won reelection.
Does anyone remember when the Obama Admin met on a regular basis with the media heads to discuss what news should be reported and how it should be promoted?
We do not have a free and independent media. Our media has been co-opted, willingly due to shared sensibilities, and absorbed by the left. It is propaganda. That is what “news” has become.
The media is as ideologically fixed as the democrats. They are incapable of any criticism because they do not disagree with the administration.
The media, academia, the government, and cultural elite are the status quo. It is amazing that the young people are so incapable of thinking that they do not see the extent to which the hidebound reactionaries of the left have destroyed their future.
If there were a devil, he would want to be unknown, in fact, his anonymity would be essential for him to further his purpose.
The news media have become an unregulated supra-governmental force, without checks and balances required for a functioning democratic republic to continue. The truth about their activities is hidden behind a tissue of illusion, like wheels within wheels, because if their great power to obfuscate and spin delusions were publicized, it would fail.
It’s essential for the news media to achieve their purpose, that they blend into the background, in fact, achieve invisibility. A succinct, accurate label for the media is needed, toward the goal of neutralizing the consciousness-limiting effects of newspeak.
Neo-Stalinist Media Megalopoly is a term very dense, if not obscure, but I need to use it to convey a lot of background.
Neo-Stalinist refers to the fact that historical dictatorships have regarded achieving absolute control of their media image as key to regulating their subjects’ thought patterns, their most important long-term goal after taking the essential, more immediate step of the liquidating the intelligentsia and the priests.
The rulers of a megalopoly are the undisputed dominant elite of an all-inclusive, inescapable geographic domaina hegemony beyond the furthest that anyone can run or hide. Consider the adamantine resolve of the population-controllers and sexual-radicals that no nation, people or group shall escape compulsory, abortion-on-demand.
The current reign of disinformation has exceeded the wildest dreams of Hitler, Stalin or Mao.
The American media are poised to escape their slavish obedience to the current administration, and take their place as our undisputed masters. They only temporarily lack the coherence to achieve this, but they have all the instruments of control already within their grasp.
The criterion of success:
American media consumersJoe People Magazine and Sally Entertainment Tonightmust never suspect that their opinions are carefully and completely programmed.
Subjects of the old Soviet Union knew the official press was completely regulated and filled with lies, but they still paid attention to its pronouncements because hidden between the lines in Pravda, there were messages regarding underground currents and trends in the politics of the ruling elite.
No such wrinkle is allowed to disturb the surface of the Neo-Stalinist Media Megaloply’s “news” offerings.
“ they were either politicians or reporters, which, of course, comes to the same thing.” Ford Madox Ford, “The Good Soldier“
Among the disinformational elite, the graduates of Columbia Journalism School and other top training institutions, the holy grail of journalistic achievement is to make or break governments. An example of this type of thing, a difference of degree rather than kind, is [an unnamed intelligence service]’s involvement in the downfall of [an unnamed] government in the 1970s. (Intelligence services and news media actually have a large overlap in operations.)
This list of successful American media coups is short but significant:
Perhaps most remarkable among the true superlatives of American historyrichest-ever nation, most freedom, millions still want to come hereis the fact that the American media have achieved the most successful regime of thought-control in world history, unmatched in the wildest dreams of the great dictators.
It’s all so big, they just haven’t yet figured out what to do with it.
A disgraced Catholic Priest, who prefers not to be mentioned, once remarked that in the dregs of society where there is no room for illusionsamong the drug addicts and prostitutesthere is no doubt that the devil is real.
The internet is the ONLY place for news.
And then, YA GOTTA DIG!
Then dig some more.
The graphic has one verious serious error thet throws it all in doubt
Comcast is not owned or controlled by GE. Neither is NBC
Comcast purchased NBC from GE
Comcast is a bonefide American enemy on a par with Al Qeads
Academia, the msm and the cultural elite are the establishment. We’re the counter-establishment. Unfortunately conservatives just don’t typically think along those lines.
Never in my wildest dreams would I have believed what my country has become, thanks to the Pravda media.
Maybe the media should see this
“... Syrian elder surrounding himself with five little children, right next to a mortar firing shells...”
I agree. A conservative, pro America group needs to buy an entertainment rich media outlet.
The people who accept the media narrative unquestioningly are as much at fault as the media itself.
I'd like to know more about this, as it was my impression that it was Roosevelt's administration that installed the Frankfurt School in American universities (including Fromm, Adorno, and Maslow). Got a source?
“The media is as ideologically fixed as the democrats. They are incapable of any criticism because they do not disagree with the administration.”
They are PART OF the administration.
