The House Intelligence Committee, led by Republicans, has concluded that there was no deliberate wrongdoing by the Obama administration in the 2012 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans, said Rep. Mike Thompson of St. Helena, the second-ranking Democrat on the committee.

The panel voted Thursday to declassify the report, the result of two years of investigation by the committee. U.S. intelligence agencies will have to approve making the report public.

Thompson said the report “confirms that no one was deliberately misled, no military assets were withheld and no stand-down order (to U.S. forces) was given.” …

Since the passage of the 17th Amendment. That’s when the little pebble began rolling down the then not so steep hill.

Another step on why the Republicans are going to under-perform in November

**********
Under-perform is putting it too kindly. I see it as caving and political cowardice.

The Republican base really needs to get a grip on reality.

Looks like there are some very nervous people about the impending hearings and, especially, whose leading it so they are trying to undermine it.

Go getum’ Trey.

>>>I have no ideas for how to fix it………….

Sadly, this country is toast. It cannot be fixed.

The only way for a majority of us to regain what we once had is for the whole house of cards to collapse...and several new countries rise out of it.

I am totally convinced that dividing the country is our only hope. Let libtards live the way they want to live....and let us live the way we want to. Start over with 3 (or more) countries....one in the NE, one in the West...and one or more in the central.

And the witnesses, who said military assets were withheld, were liars? This is the report from Issa’s investigation?

House Intelligence........an oxymoron if I ever heard one. Had to get out in front of Gowdy, didn’t you? Giving aid and comfort to America’s enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC!

So we have Gowdy named to head a select committee of the House to investigate an issue and another House Committee says there is no wrong doing.

Our Speaker is an idiot.

At minimum, the POS was AWOL. Dereliction of duty is not wrongdoing apparently. What rubbish.

Leaving our ambassador with no security (deliberately drawn down prior to the attack), leaving our men to die with no help after they were attacked .... then everyone (Hillary, Obama, Rice et al) lying their @sses off about it from the get-go ..... um, I would call that “administration wrongdoing” at a minimum and I could think of a lot stronger terminology to describe what they did.

I keep hearing the self-deluding reasoning from some that it's better to vote for someone who fits with your principles 80% of the time vs. a third party no-where or just NOT voting for them at all.p>

However, how come it always seems to be that the 20% they DON'T agree with you ends up getting done? When it comes to the potential that one of these GOP goobers will take his 20% and vote for Amnesty, or just plain ignore complete treachery by this government, what good is that 80%? That 80% is all stump-speech pablum and lies - that's what it is.

Attempt at undermining the Select Committee’s purpose and credibility. The libs are likely absolutely giddy about this.

Scam is right. The American people are being conned and swindled. And they get away with it because most Americans have no clue about anything whatsoever. The sheeple get fleeced everyday.

The correct question was not, “Was there deliberate wrongdoing?”, but, “What pro-active steps were taken when things started to go bad?”

I’m less concerned about a ‘stand-down order’ than if there was any direction given the Pentagon to immediately see what support could be given.

When things went bad, did the President actively engage and direct the DoD to take any possible steps?

No. He went to bed. He had a fundraiser to fly to the next day. Case closed.
