A state federal judge has struck down a lawsuit challenging New Jersey’s ban on “sexual orientation change efforts” or SOCE, as they are referred to in court. This is the second time in nine months a judge has dismissed a lawsuit against a practice called conversion therapy.
Gov. Chris Christie signed the law that banned the practice in NJ last year, according to the Associated Press.

This makes no sense to me. You can change your gender if you don’t like what nature made you, but you can’t change your sexual orientation if you don’t like it? I’m guess I’m just too old for all of this. Sigh.
Yes, I think you’ve summed it up - the swing is only going in one direction now, and further and further in that direction.
The only person I devoutly hope does not get the GOP nomination is Chris Christie. Some of the other possibles are lame, but he’s very destructive.
Why do liberals feel these need to ban this type of therapy?
Liberals are pro choice on abortion issues. Why are they anti choice on this and other issues?
Suppose someone with homosexual leanings really is unhappy with such leanings ,and wants to try to change his/her inclinations? Why is seeking help with that bad?
And in the spirit of being pro choice, why shouldn’t it be someone’s choice to seek such help if they desire that help??
In the liberal mind it’s ok for a male to decide he’s really female and have his, ahem, equipment surgically removed. However, if he decides he doesn’t want to be homosexual, now that’s just crazy talk.
Trouble is, this is not just in the liberal mind. It is the law of the land, more fundamental than even the right to life.

But it’s not illegal to convince someone they might be gay I bet
I have a relative who is a girl who thinks she is a boy. There is hardly any research into this. It is noted that these girls seem to the on the spectrum as this relative is.
There are people willing to provide life altering mutilations without any scientific research, hell, without a cat scan, or blood work to examine why this person may have suddenly switched teams. No tries of mild antipsychotics to test for delusional thinking.
Someday the medical people who participate in this travesty will have their a**e* sued off. As they well should.
It’s nothing short of shocking that the guardians/parents of these children not only assent to this behavior, but sometimes even aggressively pursue the physical and psychological transformations before the youngsters can reach adolescence. I can only pray that all of the “adults” complicit in this travesty will ultimately have to answer to a “Higher Power” for their abominable crimes. Good post, “Cs.”
