On a trip to the Bahamas years ago they had all kinds of warnings on the way in; at the time I told my wife anyone screwing around outside of the protections of US law were fools. A lot of freedoms and rights you take for granted aren’t the same in other countries.
Well that definitely stopped one guy from smuggling drugs. Can you imagine the amount of coffins that would be needed here in the U.S. if we implemented such a penalty? Perhaps that might be a good way to cease drug smuggling.

You’d need them for a couple of months, then the problem would disappear.
That's one outcome that is much more likely to happen in the Drug Warrior-ruled USA than in Asia. Singapore in particular is pretty good at identifying the real bad guys.
