Israel has evidence that almost half of Palestinians killed in the 25-day-old Gaza war were combatants, its deputy foreign minister said on Saturday, pushing back against international allegations of a lopsidedly heavy civilian death toll.
Gazan human rights groups say at least 80 percent of the 1,669 Palestinians killed have been non-combatants, including hundreds of children. The U.N. Human Rights Council last week accused the Israelis of "disproportionate and indiscriminate attacks" and launched an inquiry into possible war crimes.
Israel, which has lost 63 soldiers and 3 civilians to the fighting, says it has done everything possible to avoid harming innocents and that Gaza's dominant Hamas Islamists invite such casualties by operating in densely populated areas.
"There is research being done in the military, very professionally and reliably, (whose) conclusion is that at least 47% of the fatalities are terrorists, with photographs and names," Tzachi Hanegbi told Israel's Channel Two television, adding that the data would be presented to investigators. . .

“Gazan human rights group” is a contradiction in terms
Their objectivity didn’t last far. In the last ‘graf, they accuse Israel of cooking the books.

US and UK bombers, tanks and troops killed 67,900 innocent French civilians during WWII’s liberation of the country and defeat of Nazi troops. That is more than we lost in all of Vietnam. War kills civilians. Always has, always will. But only when Jews do it is it a problem.
Im thinking its more like 80 percent of the dead are Hamas terrorists..and this whole 1800 dead number is a number I highly doubt is even true..remember, who is giving out these numbers..Hamas..so we are supposed to believe that a terrorist organization is going to tell the truth about dead civilians..this is the same group that posts pictures of dead people from Syria two years ago and says that they died in Gaza now
Exactly. And the German blitz on London killed roughly that same amount. It is the nature of war. Our foolish efforts to sanitize war are a major contributor to why we never seem to win wars any more. Hopefully Israel will have more sense and will focus on winning and will accept collateral damage as a basic fact of life during wartime.
The U.N. is an utterly worthless institution. We need to get out of the U.N. and we need to shut down the U.N. headquarters and encourage it to be moved to Mozambique or North Korea, or some such place.
Disgraceful is the silence of Obama and U.N. while Christian are massacred by Muslims all around Africa and Middle East.
Those who attack Israel should keep in mind that in the quest for a lasting peace, Israel gave back Gaza to the Palestinians. Unfortunately,

Hamas follows a Palestine terrorist tradition. Remember the PLO. Hussein, the king of Jordan opened the door of his country to Palestinian refugees, and in 1970 almost two-thirds of the Jordanian population was Palestinian, and how they show their gratitude, Yasser Arafat, attempted to dethrone King Hussein, to assassinate him in three occasions and to turn his army against him. He lied to the King, betrayed him.
Remember “Black September”: The Jordanian-PLO Civil War of 1970 exploded. A bloodbath ensued. Up to 15,000 Palestinian militants and civilians were killed, swaths of Palestinian towns and refugee camps, where the PLO had massed weapons, leveled, the PLO leadership decimated, and between 50,000 and 100,000 people were left homeless. King Hussein with his loyal Bedouin soldiers expelled the PLO from Jordan by early 1971. King Hussein was criticized, but he eradicated one and for all the cancer of Islamic terrorism from his Kingdom.
History repeats itself. Israel should not stop until Hamas is defeated and his leaders are captured or killed.
They need to show what they have. They are loosing the war of publicity, even though they’re doing what needs to be done.
Even if it was 2%, I’d support their right to defend themselves from Hamas.
From what I can decipher, you can hang any name on them you want but they were still dead, anti-Israel
I remember the PLO and Jordan in 1970. King Hussein took the PLO to the woodshed.
