Iraq jihadists seize another town from Kurdish forces

Sulaimaniyah (Iraq) (AFP) - Jihadists raised their black flag in Iraq's northern town of Sinjar Sunday in a second straight day of advances against Kurdish forces, sparking mass displacement the UN called a humanitarian tragedy.

The Islamic State's capture of Sinjar raised fears for minority groups that had found refuge there and further blurs the border between the Syrian and Iraqi parts of the "caliphate" which the IS declared in June.

"The (Kurdish) peshmerga have withdrawn from Sinjar, Daash has entered the city," Kurdish official Kheiri Sinjari told AFP, using the former Arabic acronym for the IS.

"They have raised their flag above government buildings," the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) party official said.

Other officials confirmed the fall of the town between the Syrian border and Mosul, which is Iraq's second city and has been the IS hub there since it launched a major onslaught on June 9.

There have been open press reports of a buildup at a US Intelligence/Special Forces base in the Iraqi Kurdish area, including a buildup of combat vehicles.

If Iraq launches an offensive, they will be with Iranian soldiers.

One again we fail the Kurds. Of course, the MB in the White Hut would have it no other way.

I haven’t seen a story that hasn’t concerned me in weeks. Everything going on; Russia and Ukraine, Israel and Gaza, Our southern border, Iraq. The most concerning to me is why is the media downplaying the biggest outbreak of a highly contagious and deadly virus that has already killed more people than all the other viruses the media have panicked over that killed a few people. I’m actually quite concerned with Israel and Gaza, it seems like the whole world is turning against the Jews. I really wish I could just stay home for at least a month and feel this out. Something is not right with all this. It doesn’t seem right. Disaster after disaster after disaster, the world is going to hell before our eyes, and no one is playing safe. That to me is very worrisome.

“OBAMA WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON, ISIS OR AMERICA?”

Obama is routinely on the side of the Islamist transnational terrorists. He has destabilized governments and transported weapons to those who kill Christians with alacrity. He has been doing all that he could to bring about the Greater Caliphate and now the seed is starting to grow.

ISIS is now the major strategic threat in the region. From the Turkish border to the Red Sea.

The culture of the area is to follow winners. They are winning. We had better have a plan before Saudi falls.

The towns between Mosul and Syria are pretty much useless to the Kurds anyway and too easy to be encircled by ISIS forces. Better to withdraw and make your stand at Dahuk and Kirkuk. If ISIS spreads too thin over that region, the Peshmurga might even be able to retake Mosul.

Ten years of American blood and treasure went into rebuilding Iraq after the war. Now we just let the enemy take it all back.

Not even a few A-10 sorties to peel open soft targets of Toyota Tundras.

Iraq was worth fighting for then...it’s not. Obama, you suck Dem Donkey Dick.

I’m not saying send troops back in, just provide some air cover for Kurdish forces and Iraqi troops.

“Disaster after disaster after disaster, the world is going to hell before our eyes, and no one is playing safe. That to me is very worrisome.”

It’s all pretty much spelled out in the last chapters of The Bible.

There. THAT should cheer you right up! :)

The Kurds keep running out of ammunition. Can’t House GOP order a Berlin Airlift-type operation?

I suspect that just about everyone on their borders would like to see the Kurds dead or enslaved. Plus, there’s a fellow in the WH...

Oh Please. Remember how the left excoriated Bush for saying “If you are not for us, you are against us”. Not nuanced enough. I am sure that President Obama has a carefully nuanced reaction to these events. We just have to “trust” their judgement.

May God return on his head the promises of the Torah. “I will curse them that curse thee.”

Hey, yo, easy on the Grand Kenyan. He knows how to shut down a pipeline. He’s got Keystone shut down without firing a shot. Just dragging his two-tone butt across the paperwork is all he needs.

Here’s my plan for the Soddy Royals: start digging 5,000 graves. I’ve been saying since 1993 that the Soddies are going to get their throats cut. When they double Xed Bin Laden they probly sealed their fate. Their oil money is the oldest money fueling the whole anti-Jew pattern. Without it there never would have been much of an anti-Israel movement. King Flubbadubba needs to keep his head on a swivel.

We’ll be back in Iraq the third time. Count on it.

Not while Obama sits in the White House. This is too good a deal for him.

Ok, but then you turn over the oil supplies to a group that does not care about genocide. They will burn down the wells and refineries without any negotiations.

See, the prior batch of jihadi’s had a code. We had few mass causality attacks, few insurgencies in “new” countries, and few (that are recognized) NBC attacks.

ISIS doesn’t care. They have been killing other Sunni’s, blowing up mosque’s, and burning out all who will not join them.

In short, we are seeing the seeds of a new religion here. The brand of islam that ISIS is preaching is very different from the current strains of Sunni and Shiite. They are acting like the rise of Mohammed right now.

We can’t just write these guys off. If they get a hold of Saudi, the world will be in a lot of hurt.
