Fighters with the militant group the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria reached the triangle border between Iraq, Syria and Turkey, it said in a message posted on Twitter on Sunday.

ISIS took control of Iraq's largest hydroelectric dam on Iraq's Tigris River, which provides power to the city of Mosul about 50 kilometers (31 miles) to the south, the commander of the Peshmerga Kurdish fighters who had been defending the facility said Sunday.

The dam workers remained inside the facility, which fell after a 24-hour battle, Lt. Col. Herash said. SNIP-----

"If you control the Mosul Dam, you can threaten just about everybody," Pipes told CNN's Jonathan Mann.

Pipes said the militant group now has the potential to create a flood so massive and catastrophic that it would not only cause death, destruction and chaos locally in the city of Mosul, but more than 450 kilometers (280 miles) away in Baghdad as well. "It's a horrendous prospect," he said.

So far, no one. They run the German method...arrive at a village...find the top ten guys...execute them in front of the crowd....then find the head school guy and a couple of teachers...executing them. At that point, it’s all cheers from the crowd and a pledge of obedience.

I think they could run their way through Saudi Arabia in less than six weeks and overcome the country....which would drive oil prices up to $200 a barrel. If you killed off the royal family there....that would pretty much change the dynamics of Middle Eastern stability.

Amazing. One air strike and this is all over.

And not one country has the cajones to do it. Sure hope they aren’t waiting for Israel to do something.

Islam’s War Against Civilization has entered a second and even more dangerous phase.

This might have been avoided, but ten years ago our elected leaders insisted on calling Islam a “Religion of Peace” — when they should have been mobilizing for it’s eradication.

“Who is challenging these thugs?”

Only Putin, it would seem.
These are the same “Moderates” that Obama almost went to war with Russia over in September, trying to give them air support in Syria.

Who is challenging these thugs?

Assad in Syria. But the Obama administration was supplying weapons to the group opposing Assad.

This is where Benghazi gains relevance.

Obama’s answer has been to send 300 special forces to make it look like he was doing something. He has created a new military strategy he likes to call defense optics...all optics, no ammo.
