Putin's Vietnam

In any normal country, an event like the shooting down of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 would have resulted in, at the very least, a pause in overt military activity that might give rise to another such atrocity. But in Vladimir Putin’s Russia, by no means a normal country, there was only one possible course of action: escalation.

Igor Strelkov, the principal commander of rebel forces in Eastern Ukraine and a former Russian – not Ukrainian – military leader, has openly admitted that his support among ordinary Ukrainians in the East is exceptionally thin and he can’t win on the battlefield without the direct assistance of Russian troops. He’s actually threatened Putin with insurrectionist activity inside Russia if such support isn’t forthcoming. So it’s hardly surprising to see Putin preparing such an attack, and sending in Russians to take over the leadership of the Ukrainian rebel forces lest the entire movement simply collapse.

Putin smiled as Ukrainian rebels shot down even more planes with Russian missiles, including in the area where MH17 went down, and Russia began massing even more Russian troops at Ukraine’s border, sending even more weapons, including rocket launchers, to the rebel forces inside Ukraine, and even began firing its own artillery into Ukraine in naked acts of war.

And Putin wasn’t satisfied with conventional warfare. In Kremenchuck and Lviv, Western areas outside the scope of rebel activity, terrorism acts began to unfold: there were assassination attempts against the local mayors. In the former case, the mayor was gunned down mafia-style and killed, while in the latter the mayor escaped harm after a rocket attack. Pro-Russia forces are engaging, in other words, in the same kind of activity in Ukraine that Putin condemns as “bandit” activity in places like Chechnya and Dagestan.

Does anyone seriously believe that Pootie would be pulling these stunts if we had a real president in the white house instead of Valarie Jarrett’s puppet?

It will be, if the US keeps them sufficiently armed. Ukraine has enough population and enough willpower to overcome whatever Russia could throw at them. And each new weapons system in their arsenal will improve morale.

If Obama and Europe don’t manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by deal-making and dithering, Putin has a serious crash and burn ahead of him.

Putin is so shallow he divorced his Christian wife because she got old and he knocked up his moslem Tatar mistress twice.

BS, he dumped his wife for a gymnastics girl. So what? Thomas Jefferson had affairs with black maids-people in power are subject to the same personal desires and urges as everyone else.

As I’ve said before we have too many pressing problems in this country and Putin will hang himself just give it time!

Welcome to freerepublic, attacking Jefferson to defend Putin wasn’t necessary, but to repeat the false liberal line that Jefferson had sex with his slaves is really uncalled for.

Find some other way to support the enemy.

Both despicable men but not in a league with Putin.

You Putin/Russia supporters are starting to sound like his campaign workers, arguing with the other political party as though he is one of us.

I don’t support Putin I am politically neutral. As I have said wait Putin will under his own over extensions and so forth and so on. The Russians need only brake from their patriotic stupor when their economy really goes down.

Why rally the russian masses to Putin-let the consequences of sanctions punish the russian people and their government.

It’s that simple. We do not need Russia as an enemy at this time, we have too many domestic crises to focus on.

Russians are a proud people, let the Ukrainians defeat the insurgents and the russian public will wonder why their new Czar failed them!

Attacking Russia is not like attacking Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, or even Iran, it’s a whole different ball game.

Putin will fall it is just a matter of time.

Oh and by the way they did a genetic test, yes he did commit adultery with a maid.

Did you know Jefferson was a deist and not a Christian. If you are going to speak of the founding fathers you need to at least know they all weren’t southern baptists!

Interesting style there, almost like a retread, but your DNA test only support the centuries of speculation that a Jefferson was involved.

You may want to look into something besides liberal speculations.

It is no wonder that you are a Putin/Russia supporter, what was your last sign up name?

Jefferson was not a deist because he believed in miracles. Deists do not believe in miracles.

So what? Thomas Jefferson had affairs with black maids-people in power are subject to the same personal desires and urges as everyone else.

I presume you are talking about the Solly Hemmings case which lib historians dug up to prove "everybody dunnit" when they tried to hold Bill Clinton accountable.

You didn't hear the rest of the story. Yeah, descendents of Hemmings had common DNA with descendents of Jefferson. Yeah, Thomas Jefferson was a widower at the time. That's probably all you heard.

Further digging showed that Thomas Jefferson was not even home for most of the time period in questions (or even a 8-10 month window thereafter) and his brother, who was taking care of things at home, was the most likely culprit.

So the brother of a president who boinked a slave maiden two centuries earlier was supposed to justify all Clinton's sexcapades in the White House.

That's libtard moral equivalence for you.

You must have never read the Jefferson Bible. It does contain references to miracles and the supernatural. It includes references to angels, the Devil, Noah's flood, the apocalypse, Heaven and Hell. Jefferson's first proposal for the design of the Great Seal of the USA was the Israelites in the wilderness led by a pillar of smoke and fire. Thomas Jefferson believed that Almighty God intervened in the American Revolution on behalf of the Americans.

“God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever.”

Um no, I’m not. I came to this forum to discuss current events and make a thoughtful contribution.

As I have said before Putin’s regime will fall and Russia most likely will be liberalized like Belgium or the Netherlands. If of course the chinese just don’t overrun Siberia or there is a civil war and the country breaks up.

I have never signed up on here before. As I have said will say and am saying we can not afford a confrontation with Russia at this time. The left here, illegal immigrants, agenda 21, and hundreds of other things should be closer to our attention.

If anything these threads are a distraction from stuff going on at home.

That is a new one, you should post that more often.

If you have read my posts you would know I meant that after the inevitable collapse of the Putin regime occurs.
