It was the Monitor class Ironclad USS Tecumsa (sp?) that was sunk in the Battle of Mobile Bay—not the USS Monitor—that went down in a storm.

Yes, I knew that.

I was asking if anyone remembered an article about the original USS Monitor and it being found a few years ago.

“Monitor” was also a generic name for that particular type of gunboat, correct?
