A member of the U.S. Army Band said he was forced out of the U.S. Army for having anti-Obama bumper stickers on his personal car, serving Chick-fil-A sandwiches at a party and reading books written by conservative authors like Sean Hannity, a federal lawsuit alleges.

Master Sergeant Nathan Sommers, a 25-year veteran of the military and a decorated soloist in the U.S. Army Band Chorus, claims he was forcibly retired from the Army due to his religious and conservative political beliefs. I first told you about Sommers last year in a series of exclusive Fox News reports.

John Wells, an attorney representing Sommers, called him a “true hero” who lost his career while trying to stand up for his religious beliefs.” He alleges that he drew the ire of his superiors because of his belief in traditional marriage.

Ah, just what kind of "decoration" does one get for being a choirboy?

Bumper sticker a problem because he is active service... The other stuff - especially the Chick-fil-A stuff would get most of the army thrown out. I live near military installations and the local Chick-fil-As have lots of military folks in uniform in the restaurants...

Everything looked good until the Anti-Obama bumper stickers since he IS the Clown-in-Chuef. They can be sticklers about that in the military nice you are a soldier SUPPOSEDLY under his command. Personally I think he commands ISIS and the other Muzzie warriors more than he does our own....

Bullshit. Reading more into this, it looks like he was a loudmouth who refused to follow simple orders. I've seen guys like this on both sides of the issues. They're obnoxious as hell. This guy could do what he wanted, he just needed to tone it down a bit, instead, he's getting booted out of a cushy job in the Army band. I hope it was worth it.

Having a bumper stick that says something harsh about your Commander-in-Chief is a pretty good way to find yourself separated from the service.

Even if Obama is an incompetent and failed President.

IS the reason.
Ive heard the stories first hand from brother.
Anything anti Obama is highly discouraged even to the point of counseling statement.
Where he’s stationed in GA there were quite a number of soldiers that,at election time, were more or less persuaded to remove any such signage from their vehicles PARTICULARLY anything Obama negative

Military is not the place for political activism from members. That’s reserved solely for the CiC.

Gov employees are not supposed to have any kind of political bumper sticker. Tell the guy to wear a dress—then he’ll get back in.

Does not mean that in those 25 years he might have been in a combat unit. Look at his chest in that photo of him singing. The medal closes to us appears to be a Purple Heart. It seems to have the shape of one. I cannot be sure, but it does to me.

Yep. A service member with any of those stickers on his car can expect to be separated from the service post-haste.

Wow... I guess freedom of speech in the military is dead. Our 45th president is our first dictator.
