Nixon might have skated if he employed the tactics President Barack Obama’s is using in handling his controversies.

LOL! Nixon would be in jail, same as bozo the Clown President would be if the press did their jobs.

Nixon would go on a popular late-night comedy show, during which time, he would humorously refer to his attackers...

I’d go even further back to Murrow’s “Harvest of Shame.” journalist then wanted to “Change the World.”

No argument - you could even consider Walter Duranty's coverage of Utopia, known to sane people as the Soviet Union. However, it seemed that they really became emboldened when they figured out they could destroy administrations.

On Sunday’s broadcast of ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,”

Does anyone see the irony here....Yet another product of a Democratic administration in the media.

There’s journalism in the US?

The first newspapers I check are the Daily Mail and the Telegraph from the UK. Even the lefty Guardian from England is better than the shallow pre-digested mono-pablum put out by the US joUrinalist herd.

“we” have the internet and talk radio to voice dissent and expose the facts not covered by the MSM.

Unfortunately the internet and radio broadcasts are ephemeral. They all disappear into the “ether” sooner or later (even archiving websites are not forever).

The hardcopy journalism of today will be enshrined in libraries for centuries to come.

Do any public libraries have back catalogs of the Weekly Standard? Limbaugh Letter? et al?

Although I take RT with a huge grain of salt, are they all that more dishonest than CNN or MSNBC?

Did the media take lessons from Pravda? Do they take courses in propaganda practices in J school?

They’re better on our issues. I have read comments in those papers from the British readers saying the same about their own affairs, that they have to read US or other media to get news of things such as the Muslim pedophile/prostitue ring (grooming young native British girls) in Birmingham a couple of years ago. At this point, however, they may be better on their own and our news, I don’t know. I’m not as avid to keep with current affairs as I was then.

If you watch the nightly news shows and switch from one to the other, you will see they all report the same stories. Why is that?

They even use the same buzzwords (gravitas), even when the buzzwords are not commonly used words. How do they do that?

Read the article on page two by the NYT correspondent who was with the American troops in France in 1944. Not only was the article enjoyable to read because it was clear, descriptive, and well written, but also becasue it was patriotic, siding with America in the battle in France and by inference, in the battle of ideals.

How soon after WWII did that change?

Excuse the French, this is a quote:

“Journalism is not a profession or a trade. It is a cheap catch-all for fuckoffs and misfits — a false doorway to the backside of life, a filthy piss-ridden little hole nailed off by the building inspector, but just deep enough for a wino to curl up from the sidewalk and masturbate like a chimp in a zoo-cage.”

Now that Atkinson no longer works at CBS, CBS hardly ever reports on Obama’s illegal behaviors.
