NYTimes Grudgingly Admits Tea Party Winning Immigration Fight
breitbart.com ^ | 8/13/14

The New York Times yesterday featured a story about how the Tea Party has influenced the GOP on immigration: "On Capitol Hill, the Tea Party wing continues to drive the party’s agenda. Last winter, as House Republican leaders drafted their 'principles' for immigration overhaul, they largely disregarded the opponents of any form of legal status for immigrants in the country illegally, dismissing them as a loud but small minority.”

Niger Innis, the executive director of TheTeaParty.net, the nation’s largest grassroots tea party organization and convener of regular Tea Party caucus events on Capitol Hill, issued the following statement:

What we’re seeing here is Tea Party 2.0. It’s a maturation of the movement. We are influencing the debate inside Congress. It’s true that not all of the Tea Party candidates won their primaries around the country this electoral season, but in every case they made the incumbents more conservative. We see that on immigration and the stance the entire Republican leadership has taken in disavowing an open-borders, amnesty-for-all approach they were considering a year ago. Last fall we launched our Secure America Now petition and have collected more than 128,000 signatures demanding that before we tackle any attempt at immigration reform we secure our borders first. It worked. We’ve won the debate. And it’s gratifying to see the New York Times acknowledge it.

They aren’t winning, they just aren’t losing as bad as they could be.

All those illegals are not being deported and at the very least any kids they have will be American citizens.

There literally is no sane argument that everyone in central America has an ancestral right to live in the USA, and that they should be able to pour in, piled on tops of freight trains. We are talking people who have never used a flush toilet and most of whom are illiterate,,,even in Spanish. As our Compton friends would say, “Bit@h please”.
As they love to say, the optics are bad.

Is it just me, or anyone else think this just another ploy by the NYSlimes to incite anger towards the Tea Party to get their base worked up? Most Americans don’t like illegal immigration, not just conservatives.

Obama’s revenge is to allow as many illegals across the border as possible.
He is truly an enemy of our Republic. Unless we gain control of the WH with the right candidate we will not be able to undo his crimes. We don’t need an amnesty Pres.

I think it’s settling in their minds that they threw the kitchen sink and still failed. I think Cantor’s loss truly turned the tide.

I just wonder, except possibly Cruz, has a real shot at the WH who doesn’t support amnesty, no matter what they pretend and lie about during campaign time. The GOPe is going to push an illegal alien supporter, I don’t doubt, though they will try to lie and spin about it.

If the TEA party movement wasn’t winning Bonehead Ryno and Obama would have their amnesty in place. The ONLY reason why there is no official wide open amnesty is us. Sure there is lots more to do but we have done a whole lot already. Yesterday we won a few more primaries in Minnesota and Connecticut.

Actually I’d say they’re trying to stir the base but aren’t smart enough to know that many liberals don’t like seeing their beloved social programs bogged down by millions of illegals.

I must have missed it.

What did we win?

Illegal immigration has never been worse.
Amnesty? You mean making the Federal government enforce the law? We’re losing that one too.

I worked for Niger on his Congressional campaign. He lost the primary to Crescent Hardy, a Rino with a huge bankruptcy problem (I did the op research). Typical GOPe suicide tactics, run a guy sure to fail just to put the Tea Party in its place.

They aren’t winning, they just aren’t losing as bad as they could be.

More importantly, we aren't doing like we are "supposed to" and like the GOP usually does: fight for a while, lose and then get quiet about it and accept the change as the new status quo to retreat from again. We were supposed to complain for a while, then accept it and find something else to fight over, like was done with the 1986 amnesty.

You got that right. Republicans just try to slow down the left’s progress and usually eventually lose on every single issue.

They’re like a soccer team that refuses to score and just plays defense.

A few days ago the New York Fish Wrap published an editorial calling for Osama Obama to legalize all the wet...ooops,can't say that...all the undocumented democrats (thank you,Jay Leno). In small print at they end they included a caveat...that not a single one of those 30 million will be allowed to settle in Alpine,NJ,Bedord or Scarsdale,NY or Darien,CT.

On Capitol Hill, the Tea Party wing continues to drive the party’s agenda.

I wish that were true. At best, we’re holding ground. Why should it be such a battle to get the law enforced? The GOPe has been pushing amnesty for well over a decade.

The GOPe likes the Democrat’s Big Government agenda and wants them to win.

Most polls that I have seen show a aproximately 70% of those polled NOT wanting amnesty.

I know it would be a lot to ask of the Slimes but if they did a little math it would be obvious that about 210 million people is very optimistic when calculating Tea Party numbers.

Have the illegals stopped? Are we deporting the ones here? I doubt it. We have won nothing.

How is the TEA Party winning the immigration fight?

Obama already won, they’re here and they are probably going to stay here and get welfare forever.

TEA Party can’t change that right now.
