NYTimes Grudgingly Admits Tea Party Winning Immigration Fight
breitbart.com ^ | 8/13/14

The New York Times yesterday featured a story about how the Tea Party has influenced the GOP on immigration: "On Capitol Hill, the Tea Party wing continues to drive the party’s agenda. Last winter, as House Republican leaders drafted their 'principles' for immigration overhaul, they largely disregarded the opponents of any form of legal status for immigrants in the country illegally, dismissing them as a loud but small minority.”

Niger Innis, the executive director of TheTeaParty.net, the nation’s largest grassroots tea party organization and convener of regular Tea Party caucus events on Capitol Hill, issued the following statement:

What we’re seeing here is Tea Party 2.0. It’s a maturation of the movement. We are influencing the debate inside Congress. It’s true that not all of the Tea Party candidates won their primaries around the country this electoral season, but in every case they made the incumbents more conservative. We see that on immigration and the stance the entire Republican leadership has taken in disavowing an open-borders, amnesty-for-all approach they were considering a year ago. Last fall we launched our Secure America Now petition and have collected more than 128,000 signatures demanding that before we tackle any attempt at immigration reform we secure our borders first. It worked. We’ve won the debate. And it’s gratifying to see the New York Times acknowledge it.

"legal status for immigrants in the country illegally"

Ponder that one.

... but in every case they made the incumbents more conservative.

No, they just made the incumbents run more campaign ads claiming to be more conservative.

If all these illegals were given American citizenship before the 2016 election but after the 2014 election, liberals would consider that a Tea Party “victory”.

I’m not convinced that this can be credited to the tea party. There are a lot of Americans who are opposed to illegal immigration. May of them are Democrats.

“How is the TEA Party winning the immigration fight?”

My view is that they wanted to get ALL these people on the voter rolls before November, to counter our votes, republican votes, whatever. And then, THE RIGHT people could get elected, now and forever.

But they will not be on the voter rolls in November, at least not LEGALLY.

They tried everything possible with this thing. In 2006, they started in the Senate, and to appease the shaky ones, they passed the Secure Fence Act separately, then for Amnesty. Well, then it failed in the House. So having not gotten Amnesty, they defunded and gutted the Secure Fence Act, probably thinking that the flood would continue and FORCE the approval of Amnesty.

Then in 2007, they tried again, this time getting it through the House FIRST. But then it failed to get through the Senate.

We all know the story about last year. In the wake of the presidents reelection and the democrats keeping the senate, they were going to force Amnesty on the House republicans, by getting “70 votes in the Senate”. And they had their whisper campaign, that republicans couldn’t ever win unless they voted for Amnesty.

But we held the line, and it wasn’t passed in the House last year. The Obamacare/Shutdown took up lots of time. And we foiled the Establishment’s plan to pass it after the primaries by taking out their head schemer, Eric Cantor.

And now the issue is TOXIC to democrats. The supposed groundswell in support of Amnesty never happened and we forced the republicans to (despite themselves) not fall into the blame trap. Politicians will now be looking over their shoulders.

So bottom line, the Tea Party is winning the immigration fight by thwarting their desired legislation. The rest, welfare, etc., we’ll have to deal with.

Win or lose makes no difference to Obama. He is set to bypass congress regardless of who is or who is not there and grant illegals the right to remain here by executive orders Obama does not seem to care what we voters want or don’t want. Obama has his own agenda and only cares about what Obama wants and how Obama wants it right now.His lame excuses that he always uses many times over-claiming it’s the right thing to do.We will see more of this in Obama’s last 2 years as Obama indicates he intends to bypass congress it’s the right thing to do to get what he wants and he wants it done right now

For them to say this it must be horribly bad; we can’t rest in that...we have to be WAY vigilant against the cheating that will be worse than we could imagine...and illegals voting.

Is it just me, or anyone else think this just another ploy by the NYSlimes to incite anger towards the Tea Party to get their base worked up?

Oh, the NYT would never do such a thing, would they?

I'm not sure I'd call it a victory, and I'm not sure the Tea Party is entirely to credit. What has happened is an attempt to portray the issue as a Children's Crusade that has been accompanied by a coordinated campaign to shuffle and hide the persons involved. "It's all about the children, trust us." What the Times should conclude out of this is that their, and the administration's, credibility is shot.

Even at that, and you have to assume they’re lying thru their teeth, it was fun to watch all those old GOPe horses sound like Goldwater Conservatives just to win their primaries. It was a thing of beauty. And surely there will be at least a few local folks holding them to their word. They most likely won’t get a second chance at double-X

Obama already won, they’re here and they are probably going to stay here and get welfare forever.

So if he does sign an executive order making 5-10 million illegals legal, can a new President reverse that EO? Then all these new "Obama citizens" will be rounded up by the new President and sent home? Hardly!

Since you are probably knowledgeable on this subject, please, please tell me which Tea Party organization is the best one for my support. We get countless mailers and phone calls from various groups claiming to be Tea Party.

We are winning because Americans don’t want it.
If the NYT listened to Americans, they would know this.

I read this morning that a large number of the illegals are being sent to immigration court in NY, where the Obama appointed judge is approving 88% of the cases. New Yorkers are going to live it when the Hispanics displace the the Blacks in schools and in the hearts and minds of NY politicians.

This is what I fear, what the left in this country is doing behind our backs so it can further their power in the future. I loathe these judges, who find their political party and ideology more important, than the Constitution they were sworn to uphold. I also loathe the media for the similar reasons as if they don't report this, it didn't happen. Americans don't find out what these corrupt people are doing behind our backs.

Serious question, can an Article V Convention be used to reign in politicians, judges, government officials, who willingly defy the Constitution to further their own party/ideology? I ask because government these days run by these very progressives in both parties seem to not want to hold anyone accountable to corruption against our Constitution.

Nice deconstruction.

More solid proof is that the scared-**itless Dummycrat candidates are running hard-right----to dupe the voters into saving their seats. Voters need to be reminded that a vote for a Dummycrat meansthe WH ding-a-ling stays in power.

====================================================

THE FACTS ARE THESE: all the polls show voters leaning Repub b/c of their strong stance AGAINST amnesty....FAR above all other issues.

A LESSON IN LOSING Amnesty sucker Eric Cantor was publicly humiliated----dumped by the voters. Cantor's ill-fated campaign strategy was a lulu---he spent $5 million on TV about his opponent's positions----except that, voters liked what they heard and dumped Cantor in favor of his opponent.

IT WORKED TO DUMP CANTOR IT CAN WORK TO DUMP 2014 DUMMYCRATS----Dummycrats are lacerating Repubs claiming "only the Dems have the courage to stand up for what the American people want"---comprehensive immigration reform and the suckup "Dream Act."

OKAY, PATRIOTS, PASS IT ON-- Dummycrats publicly admit they are the imbeciles catering to the hordes at the border. Go for it---Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, blogs---this needs to go viral.

============================================

TALKING POINTS---all the polls show voters leaning Repub
b/c of their strong stance against amnesty....FAR above all other issues.

PASS THE WORD--Duymmycrats are opposed to a pro-America border
bill----w/ provisions Obama claimed he, himself, wanted in US law.

Did you read the article about how the Kennett Square school district, in PA, is not a White minority school district? I used to live in that district.

What is happening is de facto busing. The Kennet Square had one acre zoning and Chadds Ford had two acre zoning, while I know that has been reduced, it didn’t change that much. The schools in the district have a ten out of ten rating, but the district is right next door to Chester, where the schools are probably failing. PA allows students from failing schools to go to any other school district that they choose, so they are choosing Kennet Square. The Kennet Square kids are going to private schools in Wilmington.

I wouldn’t be surprised in they are supplying bus transportation for these kids from Chester. That is how they are going to get around the failing school issue.

You are right. The group that is against illegal immigration is not necessarily the same as the Tea Party group, and is actually a larger group. But the Tea Party does appreciate the support of our allies on this issue.
