Report: Companies desperate to avoid ObamaCare 'Cadillac tax' shifting costs to workers

A national business group representing the nation’s large employers reported Wednesday that companies desperate to avoid a 40 percent ObamaCare “Cadillac tax” are finding ways to shift the costs to workers.

The so-called “Cadillac tax,” now four years away, will affect health plans that spend more than $10,200 per worker.

Meanwhile, employers are shifting workers into plans with higher deductibles, just as ObamaCare does in the health care exchanges, and using health savings accounts to help defray the costs.

We are seeing what anyone who dwells in the real world knew would happen years ago. Only an air castle dwelling ignoramus is foolish enough to believe that health care can be fixed by government. What is happening is the equivalent of someone who owns and drives a serviceable vehicle like a Toyota camry which gets him to his desired destination economically and without headaches but thinks that he can turn it into a Rolls Royce limousine by entering it in a demolition derby. We HAD a health care system, what we are heading toward is something that resembles health care in name only. Anyone with, as my late mother used to say,”One eye and a thimbleful of brains”, knew that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act had absolutely nothing to do with either one. When they come up with a Diner Protection and Affordable Picnic Act you will know that starvation awaits us.

As the years go by I become aware that many things I used to believe were only fantasy. I used to think that adults, unlike children, pondered the facts of the matter and came to a conclusion based on reason. All I can say about that now is HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. It is impossible for anyone who actually looks at the facts to believe that government could improve health care by legislation even with the very best of intent and the PPACA most certainly was NOT written with the very best of intent, or if it was it certainly must have been written by babbling idiots.

Why didn’t you ask where your, “Twenty eight hundred percent reduction in premiums” went? I didn’t go far enough in math to be certain but I believe that would mean that the insurance company would have to pay you an annual amount that is 27 times what your premiums had been. I think a lot of people would be able to quit work and live on that or at least put it in the bank and build up one heck of a retirement account.

Obama actually said that some people would see their premiums drop by that much, he also claimed that anyone making less than a quarter million a year would get a tax reduction and I believe at one point even claimed that 95 percent of taxpayers would see their taxes cut. You should be out shopping for a yacht with all that.

This is correct and really why every employee everywhere should be ticked off about Obamacare. Not only does it negatively impact the quality of healthcare offered by the employer, but it de-incentivizes the employer to pay the bulk of the premium for health insurance. In effect, it’s actually an immediate wage decrease for millions of workers (because employers aren’t going to say, “oh we aren’t paying johnny’s healthcare anymore, let’s give him what we would have paid towards his premium.)

So it’s a loss for every full time worker with medical benefits. It’s a pay cut, in every sense of the term. And this is all thanks to Obama and the Democrats, who are supposedly “for the working man”. It’s a sick joke is what it is.

I have to agree, the “thinking” part seems to disappear when discussing this health care issue with some of my relatives. As long as it benefits them personally, they could care less how it affects others. And never seem to consider how it makes their ability to hold or find a job much more difficult.

Wait a minute. Why didn’t the RATS call you racist for even thinking such thoughts? They need to get with the agenda.

My company is dropping from covering 90% to covering 65% starting next year. Thanks, Obama voters!
