Right-Wing PACs' Formula: Lose Races, Rake In the Cash (the Establishment is upset!!)

As Tea Party-affiliated Super PACs keep losing elections, their grassroots fundraising keeps going up, up, up. What’s the mentality there?

Despite losing eight of nine GOP Senate primaries and being nearly shut out in a handful of Republican-on-Republican House showdowns in 2014, the three top D.C.-based Super PACs that fueled many of those losing efforts are continuing to rake in donations from supporters across the country.

According to the latest monthly filings with the Federal Election Commission compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics, the groups—the Senate Conservatives Fund, Club for Growth Action, and FreedomWorks for America—all saw one of their best fundraising months of the 2014 election cycle even as conservative losses piled up from North Carolina to Georgia to Kentucky. The spike in fundraising came as Chris McDaniel, Milton Wolf, and T.W. Shannon, all darlings of far-right activists, prepared for June primaries in Mississippi, Kansas, and Oklahoma, respectively. In the end, all three lost, while once-ballyhooed primary challenges to Sens. Lindsey Graham and Lamar Alexander faded with a whimper in South Carolina and Tennessee.

The top-grossing of the three Super PACs was Club for Growth Action, which eventually spent more than $3 million in independent expenditures in its effort to defeat Sen. Thad Cochran, who of course beat McDaniel in Mississippi. Even with expensive defeats in their top two races the month before, Club for Growth Action’s receipts jumped a staggering 173 percent from May to June (detailed in their June and July filings), from $665,843 to $1,154.654.

The Establishment wanted to DESTROY the Senate Conservatives Fund and the others. They want the RNC and the NRSC to choose our representatives for us.

But instead of the they and the Chamber of Commerce draining them dry, it is the NRSC that is losing money, and all the "primary victors" had their "warchests" drained. They had to outspend their unknown opponents by 10-1, resulting in bare victories.

We are not going away, and 2016 and it's crop of RINO's are in our sights!

Been saying it for the past few years. The Republican Party DOES NOT want to win.

This is one of the best descriptions of Polarized America that I have seen.

As Rush Limbaugh says, the Left ALWAYS tells you who they fear. And they fear the Senate Conservatives Fund mightily.

“The Republican Party DOES NOT want to win.”

Not entirely accurate. The Republican Party DOES NOT want *conservatives* to win.

They want the choice to be only liberal Republicans or Democrats, so if conservatives win the primary, the liberal Republicans will shift their support to the Democrats.

The flip side of this is that after years of success, the conservatives have finally wised up to the fact that liberal Republicans are *more* destructive to the conservative agenda than are Democrats.

So the liberal Republican argument that “Conservatives *have* to vote for liberal Republicans, or Democrats will win”, is now falling flat.

And the liberal Republicans are having “hissy fits” because conservatives are just deciding to withhold their votes, allowing a powerless freshman Democrat to take out a powerful liberal Republican anti-conservative liberal roadblock.

This also upsets the multinational big business lobby groups, because though they are willing to dump millions or even billions to support RINOs, the conservatives can beat them every time by just not contributing to RINOs or voting for them.

Agree 100%. The GOPe is about one thing ... destroying Conservatives.

This is good news but, quite frankly, we need to win more.

And Roberts is going to lose in Kansas. That’s not a great victory for conservatives, but it’s better than Roberts’ staffers playing Weekend at Bernie’s for the last two years then hand his seat to a crony. If McDaniel doesn’t win his challenge, then Cochran will likely lose. McConnell should lose too. All because the Tea Party exposed them. Many conservatives learned that the GOP is our biggest political enemy, and they absolutely hate us, and will do whatever it takes to defeat us. Purging all those guys should lead to new leadership.

Because that means ceding power to the conservatives. They are very comfortable playing "Washington Generals" to the Rats' "Harlem Globetrotters."

I love reading the liberal’s comments on these articles. It’s nice to see what liberals would say when the’re anonymous. Such vile, mindless hate. Now I know that every liberal I see when I’m around town hates me and would crucify me if they had the chance.

Amen. Roberts and the Chamber have most Kansans fooled by voting more conservative for the past 2 years. He’ll need our vote in November. He won’t get it.

To win, we need to stay in the fight or start a new fight.

We have a way to go but the signs are there, we need to close our primaries so democrats don’t pick our candidate. Sorry but if the incumbent and the party leaders cheat to win we should sit home when the general election comes around!!

With this news some GOPE trolls on FR will need to be on suicide watch. Why they may not be able to bear the strain of the Party aka Rove sucking down the money like it used too.

Piss on you base and the money dries up. Of course you can always expect the Chamber of Crony Communism to hand out the $$$. But each one of these apparatchiks in the CCC get only one vote on election day. The GOPE apparently failed basic math, but they can count that $$$, to bad they can’t count voters.
