Retired Marine Cpl. Robert Richards, a combat veteran who was badly wounded in Afghanistan and later appeared in a controversial video urinating on dead Taliban insurgents, was found dead Wednesday night in his home in North Carolina. He was 28.

The death was confirmed Thursday morning by Guy Womack, a lawyer who represented Richards in his long legal battle with the Marine Corps after the video was published anonymously on YouTube in January 2012 and erupted into an international scandal. Womack said the death does not appear to have been a suicide, and the cause will not be known until an autopsy and toxicology tests are completed.

Democracy wasn’t established in Iraq. Islamic theocracy was encoded in their Constitution.

Indeed. I also believe Chris Kyle’s killer was recruited to do what he did.

Heaven doesn’t need patrolling.

RIP. The modern military is spiritually damaging to many well-meaning young people.

“We are the enemy, because our public appears incapable of supporting the wars that we engage in.”

Why should we? It’s all politics. We often don’t even know the real reasons we went in, until years later.

I’ll always support the troops, but they shouldn’t be out there fighting other people’s wars.

All wars are political. decided by politicians. But fought by the young of the society.

It does no matter that you or someone else in the citizenry does not agree with the politics that decided the entry into a armed conflict. Once decided, it is not optional. It becomes a duty.

What has happened since Korea is that duty in the popular media is now a relative term, that seems to only apply until another feeling or intuition takes it’s place as being the thinking of “the American people”. So a previous war or engagement by the previous government becomes the past and there is no continuity as politics change.

Now, for the first time, we have the current administration actually blaming failures of government continuity on the previous administration.

The continuity problem has been around since the end of WWII (Eisenhower) in my understanding. Prior to that some modicum of effort was standard fare in succeeding administrations to continue or finish the commitments of the prior one.. But now it’s not done at all!

This cannot continue.

If it does, the United States of America, a formerly successful experiment, has completed it’s journey and will end..

No young person, unless utterly ignorant, would work voluntarily for a government that screws them at some point. In fact I have advised against enlisting in the US military since Obama was elected for his first term.

Would have done that sooner but Reagan had repaired my lost confidence in my country. Only to be dashed by events after his term was over..

I never believed that any young man or woman should ever experience what we went through during and post Vietnam.

Yet they have and are experiencing a very similar trauma.

As I said, it cannot continue this way. One day the nation will need it’s warriors again, and few will answer the call, and frankly speaking, nobody should.

Gramscians are in the media, the schools, and the agencies - all have their snouts in teh Gubment Feeding Trough.. Welfare classes are Trough Feeders, of course.

Fortunately, much of the public is still not Gramscian, and they are the producers.

America’s greatest battle lies just ahead, “Producers v. Trough Feeders” is about to commence.

Heaven doesn’t need patrolling.

It was a reference to the Marine Corps hymn.

From the sign, what looks like a Latrino holds a sign “Serve The Poor”. As he asks, so will it be done - they will be serviced as the bull services the heifer.

Note, however, the Latrino holds a bumper sticker with Jesus on it.

And, leakers like the Wikileaks bunch may well be the salvation of America when they release the personal data on all the Trough Feeders. When that happens, suddenly the Trough Feeder class will realize an outraged public knows where they live.

With anonymity stripped away, the Trough Feeder becomes once again a public servant rather than the public master they now believe themselves to be.

To me that picture is both depressing and yet offers hope.

For the record, Devil Dog... I’d have pissed on them too. I’d piss on anything that hurts this Country and my people.

But yeah... you are correct about the camera part, we live in the “Age of Instant Selective Lib Outrage”.

The hypocrisy of those people is what sickens me. These ISIS animals are beheading Christian children right now, and there’s silence from the Left. The Palistinian animals were digging tunnels to blow up under Israeli Kindergarten and kibbutzim, and there’s crickets from the Left.

Piss on them, too.
