How Congress Helped Create Ferguson’s Militarized Police

August 14, 2014 Since 2006, the Pentagon has distributed 432 mine-resistant armored vehicles to local police departments. It has also doled out more than 400 other armored vehicles, 500 aircraft, and 93,000 machine guns.

Interesting. My local news is reporting on this right now in Columbus OH. The sheriff of a local county just said that militarized equipment and armored vehicles were offered to them, virtually free, by the Department of Defense. They took them and with hardly any cost to the county. Why in the hell is the federal government supplying locals with this type of equipment?

I’m reading reports now since the non-camo wearing, non MG pointing state police have taken over, things are starting to quiet down a bit. Tacticool is way over done by police. Police shouldn’t have guns anymore. They don’t know what they’re doing. That’s the real sign of the times - the stupid.

Sorry, just the existence of those benefits programs DID NOT create them. That was in their makeup as citizens and persons.
If anything made them the family environment and the schools created them. They actually with their actions have opted out of society and their wish should be granted to them.
All rabid wild animals should be removed. How ever it is possible it needs to be done 'cause it is necessary to maintain society.
It was/is their choice.

Just this evening I came upon, in the opposite lane, what looked like a very minor fender bender. The two civilian vehicles that had been involved in the incident were surrounded by county squad cars, blue lights flashing, and officers all over the place dressed as if they were about to take a spacewalk.

I kept driving, but felt very intimidated by the scene.

Unfortunately, some police departments need serious hardware these days.

1. Is the average law-abiding citizen allowed to be armed with the same weapons?

2. If the answer is 'no', then who will enforce those laws against the law-abiding, and what 'hardware' will they use to enforce them?

The Federal Department of Civilian Control depends on overwhelming numbers and force. If three disobedience events happen at the same time, it will fall apart. As soon as the masses of underpaid welfare recipients learn this fact, they will apply the “pile on” tactic. It may already be happening, judging by the way the FDCC has been attacking the press.
