Early on he said his priorities were:
1. Safety of his police.
2. Safety of the rioters.
I must conclude that his last statement means he was not upset until the police were attacked.
Have noticed a pattern. The rioters form lines and the Police form lines. The rioters advance and the Police ask the rioter to disperse. The rioters force confrontation and the Police respond. Once the Police respond the looting begins but not till the Police respond. Is as though the rioter want the Police to respond in order that the looting may begin. With perhaps the National Guard there to confront the rioters the Police will be able to respond to the looters?

The tactic is being employed by the communists that have come to Ferguson. We have seen it many times over the last century and a half.

Your time-line is wrong. The first night had little force out. The next nights had the local police and complaints. Then the Gov. came in with his ‘Hug-a’Thug’ campaign.
Guess they get what they wished for.
What is interesting is how long it has taken the feds to move in compared to what took place with a few farmers and cowboys down in Vegas. I don’t recall any burnings or shootings by a bunch of low brow farmers. The feds were ready to take out the white folk at the drop of a hat.

I stand by my original remark. Over militarized police = over confident local gov’t. with improper ROE.
Maybe is a pattern of History. Complain, force confrontation, complain some more, force additional confrontation. Neither side gives and then bloodshed begins. Seldom are complaints and confrontation a settling and a return to calm till one side or the other side wins? Seems so. Guess America has been lucky till now?
Well, well, well. “Hot Shot” Johnson from the state police couldn’t get it under control without doing the same thing the Ferguson police did. Now they actually believe these thugs are going to be afraid of the national guard? What will Nixon and the race hustlers do if the NG has to revert to force?
All it would take for this to stop is for Jesse and AL to march and ask everyone to let the case go through the system. And to get them to do that, tell them if they don’t they’ll be arrested for inciting violence. Jesse’s and AL’s days of getting themselves arrested are way behind them.
The black state trooper couldn’t stop it. A lot of the guardsmen will be black.
