When you’ve got a DWI in a powerful public position, you’re already severely compromised and people can use you for bribes or other corruption. Alternatively, your thoughts of vengeance, payback and/or CYA just might be working overtime.

The officers appeared to have cut her an abundance of slack (30 minutes of sobering up before the DWI specialist arrives, then he coaches her through the whole thing even after MULTIPLE fails and refusals).
There’s around 10 minutes of discussion between her and one of the officers about who they both may know.
There was also a bit of radio chatter trying to confirm her story that she WAS the District Attorney.
Police don’t HAVE one hour to speend on suspected DWI traffic stops. Impound the car (there was some suspicion from a separate phone report that a car possibly matching the description of hers had sideswipes a car) and give her the field sobriety test.
