White House takes suggestions from business on immigration changes

In addition to reviewing the deportation system of immigrants in the U.S. illegally, the Obama administration is weighing executive actions to change the legal immigration system in ways that could benefit businesses, the Wall Street Journal reports.

[Snip]

Mr. Obama is reportedly weighing unilateral steps he could take to defer deportations for anywhere from 550,000 to 4.4 million immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally, as well as providing some with work permits. The move is sure to draw harsh criticism from Republicans, who argued that they could not pass immigration reform in 2014 because the president cannot be trusted to enforce the law.

"I promise you the American people don't want me just standing around twiddling my thumbs and waiting for Congress to get something done," Mr. Obama said earlier this month regarding immigration, although he said it was his "preference" to work with Congress. He said he will have to "make choices in terms of how we allocate personnel and resources" in the immigration enforcement system in light of congressional inaction.

"Wouldn’t that be an impeachable offense ?"

Just about everything the scum has done is subject to impeachment.
With gutless members of congress it will NEVER happen.

8/13/14 -- NRO.online.com -- Sen Jeff Sessions Warns of ‘Chilling’ Obama Immigration Plotting / By Joel Gehrke

Senator Jeff Sessions (Rep-Ala.) called for Americans to pressure their senators to vote against Obama’s expected executive orders on immigration, which Sessions described as a “chilling” plot with activists to undermine national laws.

“Open-borders groups have grown bolder and louder in their unlawful demands, launching a campaign for the president to ‘go big,’ and demanding that he ‘stand up’ to Congress and ‘expand DACA,’” he added, citing an Associated Press report that administration officials were meeting with immigration activists and the Chamber of Commerce. “It is chilling to consider now that these groups, frustrated in their aims by our Constitutional system of government, are plotting with the Obama administration to collect their spoils through executive fiat,” he said.

“The steps that must be taken are clear: the Senate must vote on the House-passed measure to stop these unlawful actions. It is true that Majority Leader Reid is blocking it from a vote. But Reid acts only with the blessing of his members in the Democrat conference — so the American people have the power to force it to a vote through their elected senators,” Sessions said.

“That begins with asking a simple question: Where do your senators stand?”

Chamber of Commerce members--including publicly-traded companies---should take heed.

There have been thousands of accusations of human rights abuse, extortion, and even reports of murder on the freight trains transporting undocumented migrants to the US border....many coming to work in their companies.

The trains involved in these are publicly-traded companies, traded on NASDAQ, with "very influential stockholders", such as the Clintons and billionaire Mexico resident, Carlos Slim. Other stockholders include,T Rowe Price, Bank of America, and General Electric.

The real eye-opener is that these freight train companies are involved in the Narco trade, and one report makes it clear that the companies are aware of the abusive practices their train operators are engaging in. The border swarm is all about human trafficking, narco trafficking, and government and corporate collusion.

=============================================

"The Beast"---not exactly the LI Limited. No running water
and flush toilets on those freight trains. How did the
Chamber's future employees handle body wastes?

Coming to work in your town.

One more thing, Chamber members........

The SEC and IRS would be interested in municipalities using tax dollars----and its public school districts using tax-exempt education bond proceeds---- to finance illegals.

Tax-exempt municipal bond investors---and education bond investors-- may have legal grounds if they were deceived about deceptive bond offerings characterizing the uses of tax-free bond proceeds.

In many cases, bond issues are approved by voters---at the ballot box--so that voters may have also been misled WRT uses of fraudulent bond offerings.

Also culpable are:

<><> bonding companies underwriting possible fraudulent bond issues;

<><> banks holding possibly fraudulent bond proceeds;

<><> municipal and school finance administrators allocating bond proceeds,

<><> municipal and school personnel accepting the bond proceeds.

<><> municipal and school vendors accepting possible fraudulent bond proceeds.

<><> publicly-funded tax-exempt groups advocating the uses of fraudulent bond proceeds.

The Chamber of Commerce should hope that taxpayers do not find out which banks are facilitating this.
<><> Which banks are designated the repositories of municipal tax dollars.
<><> Which banks are dispensing tax-exempt bond proceeds.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency processes questions and complaints concerning consumer issues within the jurisdiction of the OCC through our Consumer Assistance Group (CAG) (and sends misdirected complaints to the appropriate federal or state regulator).

OCC processes complaints involving national banks and federal savings associations with more than $10 billion in assets on behalf of the CFPB, while the CFPB builds its capacity to handle complaints. Under this approach, the CFPB will begin by handling credit card related complaints involving national banks and federal savings associations with assets of $10 billion or more and will expand its complaint process to other products and services offered as the new bureau builds that capacity through March 2012.

Consumers can contact the bureau through its Web site, consumerfinance.gov, or by phone at 855-411-2372. Consumers may use the FFIEC site to identify a financial institution's primary regulator, or may use the FDIC institution directory to identify which institutions have more than $10 billon in assets.

For specific problems with a financial institution other than a national bank, contact the customer assistance:
(1) State Banking Department WRT a state bank
(2) Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), or,
(3) the Federal Reserve for federally chartered banks.

NOTE WELL Under the Bank Secrecy Act, banks are required to establish, implement and maintain programs designed to detect and report suspicious activity indicative of money laundering and other financial crimes. “The Bank Secrecy Act was enacted to protect the public from harm by identifying and detecting money laundering from criminal enterprises, terrorism, tax evasion or other unlawful activities,” the special agent in charge for Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation, explained.

Shady banking transactions could be prosecuted under the (1) Bank Secrecy ACT, (2) RICO, and, (3) the Hobbs Act (by impairing the municipal/school districts' economic viability).

It would be interesting to determine the number of US govt checks the Chamber's "low-skill" employees are cashing....as well as their wire-transfer activities.

INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY---Central America Border Rush Fueled By Remittances
(extortion racket---US taxpayers to prop up corrupt govts)

(Immigrants from 144 countries are border-jumping) ......52,000 unaccompanied illegals crossed the south Texas border this year alone.....as the political debate focused on immigration enforcement, a key economic factor has been lost in the clamor. Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, which are supplying three-quarters of the latest cross-border flood, and are dependent on their diaspora in the US to prop up their own woeful economies.

Immigrants send back billions of dollars to their families. Remittances have risen to 16.5% of El Salvador's GDP, 15.7% of Honduras' and 10% of Guatemala's, according to World Bank data. Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Bolivia rely on remittances for 4.1% to 9.7% of GDP.

But the figure drops precipitously for every other country in Latin America. Mexico, with the largest immigrant population in the U.S. with as many as 13 million people, now relies on remittances for just 2% of GDP.

Migrant remittances to Mexico were $22 billion in 2013, 29% below their 2006 peak. For Colombia, once a locus of drug-war violence, that has turned itself around, remittances are only 1.1% of GDP. Free-market star Chile's figure is 0%.

It's not surprising to see Central American leaders urging the U.S. to let the newest arrivals stay. Those migrants' remittances offer a lifeline to desperately poor countries. While the money goes to families, it helps the broader economy......and ultimately fills government coffers.

A 2008 Pew Research Center survey found that 54% of foreign-born Hispanics send remittances to their home countries, compared to 17% of U.S.-born Hispanics. Undocumented immigrants are believed to send more cash home than either.

Virtually all the cash received by the three remittance outliers is from the U.S. (Guatemala 89%, El Salvador 90%, Honduras 87%).
