Indicting Rick Perry seemed like a good idea at the time. After all, he’s a Republican who might run for president in 2016!
But now he’s fighting back… with Rosemary Lehmberg’s help.

This is delicious. I can see the court hearings and the arguments and the judge trying to make this fit into a crime. This like they are indicting him for j-walking. That is all this amounts to. The judge must have a real headache on this one.
How dare the law arrest Lehmberg don’t they know democrats are above the law.

You are right. she also threatened officers but they brushed it off. she wanted the sheriff to get her out and dismiss it all - again, expecting to be treated differently than those she prosecutes

Cruz is my 1st choice, but Perry is way better than Jeb and Christie...

Rick is already making political hay on this one. People were lined up in front of the police station yesterday cheering him on. Then he gave a fully publicized speech, took a rock star mug shot and will now be getting free national air time on every major talk show for the forseable future.

Perry’s lawyers need to ask for the venue to be 15 miles NW in Williamson County. Cedar Park or Georgetown.

Travis County is toxic.
Its a bit of a hail marry that seems almost stereo typically Texan in its boldness to challenge and and conservative in its demand that officer holders uphold the values they ask of the rest of us.
I don’t know if Perry can pull it off either, but its an opportunity and I agree with Perry not passing it up, hes not likely to get a better one down the line.
