Hamas said that an Israel airstrike in Gaza killed three of its senior military leaders early Thursday.

The Palestinian militant group claimed that the men -- identified as Mohammed Abu Shamaleh, Mohammed Barhoum and Raed al-Attar -- were killed along with three other people in a strike on a four-story building near Rafah, a town in the southern part of the coastal territory.

The trio had played a key role in expanding Hamas' military capabilities in recent years, including digging attack tunnels leading to Israel, training of fighters and smuggling of weapons to Gaza, Israel said.

Hamza Khalifa, an area resident said the house was struck without warning. "We only heard multiple F-16 (warplane) missiles, one after the other, six or seven missiles," he said.

Didn’t Obama just veto a shipment of missiles to Israel? If he does that, he won’t ship them anything to defend themselves. Israel has only the Lord God of Israel to do battle for them.

What I want is a declaration of war. A real one, that Congress signs on to and that the American people have to live with. This war in the shadows stuff is garbage and sets a dangerous precedent. What should have happened? This post sums it up (not from me):

One of the problems with the “war on terror” is that “terror” is a tactic, not an enemy.

ISIS has declared itself to be the Islamic State. Now we have an entity against whom to wage war. It might be prudent to recognize the Islamic State and then, in the same breath, formally declare war on them. We will, of course, obey all of the laws of warfare including the Geneva Conventions on the treatment of POWs. (GWB was a fool not to have granted Al Qaeda POW status....) Of course, the Geneva Conventions require that combatants wear uniforms, and provides that combatants OUT of uniform may be summarily executed as spies or saboteurs. I’m not aware that any AQ fighters ever wore anything remotely resembling a uniform, so if we had recognized AQ as a Geneva Convention entity, we’d be absolutely within our rights to empty Gitmo with hangings. Which would have eliminated the declared “caliph”, who would have danced the Danny Deever.

Having formally declared war against IS, we could seize their commerce and funds, and then declare them as being guilty of war crimes, and exercised other powers that cannot really be used against an amorphous “terrorist” enemy.

Of course, this all assumes a leader who might have some intestinal fortitude, which our current “leader” does not.

************

Put the guy who said that in the Oval Office and let him run things for the next 4 years.

What do you call “three dead top Hamas commanders”?

A good start...

Now every member of Hamas needs to get the word immediately that it was the next three “top commanders” who informed.

Rinse. Repeat.

Eventually, no more Hamas!

More good news. Perhaps you would like to post this separately. Brand new info. Israel strikes back after days of rockets from Hamas.

My apologies. I went back to reread this link. At the very top was a May 2015 date, but when I looked further down, the dates were 2012 and 2013. Why the heck put today’s date on something 3 years old???

I would assume that even in a cesspool like Gaza, there are some decent and brave human beings who realize that helping Israel to weaken Hamas is a moral thing to do.
