“This kind of behavior not only is unprofessional, its unsafe and its certainly not in keeping with the kind of military-to-military relations that wed like to have with China.
Sound like Admiral Kirby is quoting Kerry here.
“No biggie, they did this to W too”
“It is considered by the Navy to be the most advanced long-range anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare aircraft in the world with its advanced radar and electronic signal sensors.”
I think it was an Orion EP-3 and they took it down. The
pilot was able to land it but I think it was in Chinese
territory. Either way they got most of the technology
but the crew was able to destroy some of it, or so they
say. If it’s another tech grab then why don’t they just
ask the Obama. I’m sure he would give it to them.
You can thank Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger. (Republicans)
No, it was Wun Hung Lo.
I think the Chinese are more disciplined than that and I don’t think it was a case of stupid. I think he probably had orders to harass the surveillance plane.
It was a pro forma act. It was a reminder that China is.
Threat? not really
No harm, no foul, but, the important thing is ObOzO didn’t lose a stroke.
I think they’re a threat. They’re just more subtle about being a threat. They want hegemony in the Pacific.
Au contraire. The barrel roll attack is an effective but not-often used offensive tactic in close-in dogfighting. In the day, I used it successfully many times for a gun “kill” of an adversary Phantom.
TC
It isn’t just because of Obama’s weakness. The policies of free trade paid for this.
Too bad our guys didn’t paint him up so he could fly home with his pants full. :-)
They tried that before.
Isn’t there always a `bow wave’ effect coming from the heavier aircraft, as well as wingtip vortices that could destabilize a smaller A/C that gets too close, as probably happened in 2001?
In the 1930’s the Soviet Union had built the world’s largest aircraft. It crashed when an escort fighter got sucked into its windstream & crumpled the tailplanes.
Just like the XB-70 crash in 1966.
Anyway, IMO the Chinese pilot was acting under orders. He’d be sent to the rice paddies if he wasn’t.
Just another middle finger from Beijing to Obama.
Only at night, F-22s aren't invisible. Doubt the P8 was escorted, we're not at war.
You have the wrong aircraft. It wasn’t a Lockheed C-130 variant, it was a Lockheed Electra variant. It was the EP-3 version of a P-3 Orion.
Back in 2001, a Chinese fighter collided with a US EP3 surveillance aircraft. The P3 managed to land safely, the Chinese pilot had to eject.
“Doubt the P8 was escorted, we’re not at war.”
Doubt the pentagon would be that stupid after the last time
the Navy got buzzed by the chicoms. But then again this is
Obamas military now, hell, they may agree with you that
an F22 is visible on radar during the day. I guess stealth
is only effective during the night. Jeeeese.
Gadzooks, az... you got the picture pointing the wrong way!
Here it is... in the correct attitude.
Now, isn't that... better?
