The review will include whether the programs are appropriate; whether such police agencies are getting the necessary training and guidance to use the equipment and whether the federal government is sufficiently auditing the use of the equipment obtained through federal programs and funding.

Let me guess: he will decide that local police need to become part of Homeland Security. Stroke of the pen, Gestapo accomplished.

The article isn’t very clear...
From what hole did he order the review?

The focus should be on why Fed agencies like the BLM and Dept of Ed have swat teams not local police.

How about we start with a review of how FEDERAL AGENCIES have created their own police forces, and how they are DEPLOYED against citizens? You know, a REAL federal issue. Then you can work on the toys given to local police.

Key point. But how about both? Stop arming the local police with tanks and military equipment now. Then in 2016, when a conservative is elected, work on disarming all federal agencies like the EPA.

How about a review of the militarization of all federal departments and bureaucracies in the last 6 years.

Exactly!

Along with the FDA, Dept. of Agriculture, Railroad Retirement board, TVA, Office of Personnel Management, Consumer Product Safety Commission and Fish and Wildlife

First, note that the Second Militia Act of 1792 required citizens to buy their own firearms.
Militia Acts of 1792

Next, consider that Justice John Marshall had clarified that Congress is prohibited from laying taxes in the name of state power issues, state militias arguably an example of a state power issue.

“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

So not only do I not understand why some states are using federal dollars to arm state and local police, but based on Justice Marshall's words, the feds should not be laying taxes for such purposes anyway.

This coming from the clown whose administration is responsible for the largest weaponization of federal employees in the history of America as well as the arming of drug cartels and muslin terrorists?

BINGO!

It was a libtard idea to militarize the police to “counter” the “threat” posed by second amendment supporters.
I guess that when their pet sturmtruppen offend the wrong social group, the pet sturmtruppen must go.

How about returning law enforcement back to its roots and dumping the military hardware?
Obamatron will just create a new schutzstaffel anyway, the left wants their dystopian police state that badly.
