"No Californian should be exposed to the type of hate or threat of violence caused by the image of the Confederate flag," the bill's author, Assemblyman Isadore Hall III (D-Compton), said in a press release.

Leading to eventual removal from text books etc. According to the article the image will still be "permitted" there, at museum and educational facilities. For now. Thank you supreme government for protecting me. First amendment? We don't need no steenkin' first amendment. Only politically correct "free expression/speech" is allowed. Yup, rewriting history one day at time.

It clashes with the black flag they support and you know how they are into color coordination.

the type of hate or threat of violence caused by the image....

So portrayals of the hammer and sickle will be removed as well?

"hate or threat of violence caused by the image of the Confederate flag"

Thanks Assemblyman! You acknowledge that those who show it are subject to everything from catcalls to punches, huh?

Let me guess, the ISIS flag and the New black panthers flag would be fine to fly....

I’m seriously considering making a new purchase this weekend. A new flag.

A flag with a bear and a red star doesn’t exactly fill me with warm feelings either.

Considering that a good part of Californication was settled by Confederates, this is hilarious.

No indignant actions against yankee railroads who employed coolie labor for literally only food.

And the flag of Aztlan is flown proudly by these aholes, certainly. The ancient mexicans never had slaves, right. Only cocaine to work them to death without food.

You now have the new marxist order. Tax the marijuana in mendocino— and we who tax it are your masters. Can you hate while you’re stoned? sho nuff.

Things do not offend,
People take offense.

When a person finds themselves offended
They should look to their own biases.

This is a HUGE, HUGE issue for Californians right now! Never mind they can't wash their cars or water their grass. Something must be done about the epidemic of Confederate flags, and their message of hate and bigotry that are flying everywhere across the landscape.

As a state-employed pornography condom inspector, how am I supposed to do the much-needed work that the taxpayers of California are paying me to do when I am constantly exposed to this symbol of California's racist past?

What Californians need are MORE LAWS!!!

Odd isn’t it? What when I was a kid the old “Stick and stones” rhyme was often told to us. Now you need a dictionary of “offensive” words and phrases just to keep straight. Oops. I used the words “keep” and “straight” together. Does that somehow imply I don’t like “gay” people? Yup. That’s how stupid this has become. Redskins? No. Braves? Okay. Chiefs? Okay. Reds? Okay.

Well, you know that’s where they are going...

This is why the Democratic Party is absolutely useless when they waste their energy on issues like this. Californians are worried about their stagnant state economy, illegal immigration and impending water shortages but Assemblyman Hall feels the need to bring up a vital issue so important to that state, the Confederate flag? This guy is an idiot but it also points out the Democrats, regardless of the part of the country they reside in, are all playing the race card for cheap political points when there are so many other pressing issues.

This is obvious message content discrimination and I’m pretty sure we get more than five votes should it reach SCOTUS.
