Strong California quake causes injuries, damage

NAPA, Calif. (AP) — The largest earthquake to hit the San Francisco Bay Area in 25 years sent scores of people to hospitals, ignited fires, damaged multiple historic buildings and knocked out power to tens of thousands on Sunday.

The 6.0-magnitude earthquake that struck just before 3:30 a.m. miles from Napa in California wine country was felt widely, breaking water mains, causing more than 100 gas leaks, leaving two adults and a child critically injured, damaging some of Napa Valley's famed wineries, and sending residents running out of their homes in the darkness.

Dazed residents too fearful of aftershocks to go back to bed wandered through Napa's historic downtown, where the quake had shorn a 10-foot chunk of bricks and concrete from the corner of an old county courthouse. Bolder-sized pieces of rubble littered the lawn and street in front of the building and the hole left behind allowed a view of the offices inside.

” damaging some of Napa Valley’s famed wineries,”

Doesn’t Pelosi own a famed Napa Valley winery ?

Aww, nuts. I fell asleep half an hour before it hit and it wasn’t strong enough here in the Sacramento area to wake me up, assuming it was strong enough to be felt here at all, which I’m sure it was.

Was it the extra weight of water in Pelosi's district during the extreme water shortage?

Or was it the weight of her immorality - the promotion of Abortion and Homosexuality?

Or was it the weight of her perfidiousness "we have to pass the bill to see what's in it"?

Or was it the weight of all those Illegal Immigrants flooding across our borders to take away our votes?

Your Guess is as good as mine.

Napa is closer to the bay than it is to the American River...Don't trust GOOGLE.

“No reports of looting!”

Yes, because there are damned few Blacks in Napa. We know the population because we are owners of commercial real estate there. Luckily, our property escaped damage. The only bums in town are white. Most of the Hispanics are employed in the Wine Industry and a lot of them have been there for many years.

“News for everyone......Napa is not in the Bay area, but in the American River Canyon area.”

News for you, Napa is in the Napa Valley, and it is considered part of the Bay Area! The City of Napa is less than ten miles from the northern edge of the San Francisco Bay. While there is a new town between Vallejo and Napa that is called American Canyon (it was the epicenter of the quake), The only river there is the Napa River. The American River mouth is up near Sacramento where it empties into the Sacramento River.

My conservative neighbors in Placer Co and El Dorado Co
would be shocked to find Napa has been moved to the
Sierras. The poster confuses American River Canyon with
American Canyon.

Funny!

Napa County considers itself to be one of the Bay Area counties.
