Col. Rob Maness Surges in Louisiana Senate Race

We wanted to share the results of a poll we conducted last week in the Louisiana Senate race. It's good news for conservatives.

The survey shows that Col. Rob Maness (R-LA) has climbed into double digits in this three-person race and is now surging. Here are the results:

Mary Landrieu (D-LA) — 43% Bill Cassidy (R-LA) — 32% Rob Maness (R-LA) — 16% Other — 1% Undecided — 8%

As you may know, Col. Maness started this race with no name awareness, no money, and no organization. But thanks to his hard work, your financial support, and a winning message, that has begun to change.

In March, his support was only 3%. It rose to 8% by June and has now doubled again to 16% in less than two months. At this rate, he will be in second place in October and make the run-off with Landrieu in November.

Col. Maness is surging because the establishment Republican in the race, Congressman Bill Cassidy, is an uninspiring candidate who offers voters no real choice over Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu.

Cassidy is essentially the same candidate as Landrieu except with an "R" next to his name. He has supported wasteful spending, higher taxes, and more debt. He even donated money to Mary Landrieu!

Bill Cassidy's weakness as a candidate can be seen in the hypothetical head-to-head contests with Mary Landrieu that we tested in our poll.

Cassidy trails Landrieu by 6 points despite having spent over $3 million, having the full support of the DC establishment, and having high name awareness.

All Maness has to do is come in second in November. There's going to be a runoff one way or the other.

If Cassidy is not ahead of Landrieu by at least 5% in the December runoff, Mary will pull that out of Orleans parish (Nawlins’) in fraudulent bussed in and dead votes-Just as she did in her last election, even in post-Katrina New Orleans.

OK. She probably needs to hit the state, do some barnstorming with the Colonel. Get him to second place for the runoff.

I know that Louisiana has pretty screwed up politics, but can anyone explain how they will have a December runoff if the general Election is in November?

How can 2 Rs be running against Mary?

Looks like the 16% Maness is just going to shoe Lil Mary in for another 6 years, just like Virginia.

Louisiana candidates must secure 50% of the vote. If 50% is not achieved the top two go to a runoff. Initially it was designed to keep third place Republicans from ever winning but now it’s been allowing Democrat who are weak to live long enough for a coalition conservative to win.

If Mary is getting 43% in polling today, then she’s toast unless Cassidy or Maness screws up. Last time she was just above 50% in polling around this time. Huge drop in support.

His slogan has been “Two of them, one of us”.

He’s been extremely active and vocal on all issues. He’s very much in to win and is hitting both candidates hard. Cassidy seems to be cruising in his campaign.

It’s a jungle primary in which there are nine candidates on the ballot. Pick your choice
out of the nine and then if no one gets 50% plus one vote then a run off is held on
Dec. 6 between the top two vote getters.

Those on the ballot include five Democrats, three Republicans and one Libertarian.

Wayne Ables - D
Raymond Brown - D
“Bill” Cassidy - R
Thomas Clements - R
Mary L. Landrieu - D
“Rob” Maness - R
Brannon Lee McMorris - L
Vallian Senegal - D
William P. Waymire Jr. - D

Thanks, maybe......

You mean that the November General is this jungle primary?

I used to live near Shreepoot and even though it was quite entertaining to watch the LA tv channels on election night, dang if I remember anything close to this mess.

x-purt.

Meant #18 for you. The Nov. 4 election is both the general and primary
if a runoff is needed.

La isn’t the only one that uses this primary arrangement. But they began using
it back in the 1970s. It applies to all races except the Presidential election
which is barred by both the GOP/Dem parties.

I’d change my name to Leroy Africa Bordeaux and run as a Democrat just to siphon off votes.
