He was one of the biggest contributors to the National Republican Senatorial Committee. They are the ones who published the ads calling Tea Partiers racist in Mississippi. He is an insider's insider in the Senate.
My theory is that he and his people are floating a possible run to scare the powers that be. He has indicated that IF he runs for President he won't run for Senate. I bet Republican muckity mucks fear him splitting the establishment vote for President and fear losing a purple state Sentate seat so they will promise him something to keep him out of the race.
My money is on him replacing "tainted goods" McConnell when the Republicans take the Senate.
You heard it here first folks.

Portman announced his SUPPORT for GAY MARRIAGE after his son came out.
Like amnesty-loving Jeb Bush, he speaks fluent Espanol....which raises a little flag as to why...and what his definitive views on amnesty are.
To me he's Mr. Bland....when I watch him on TV he's so boring I'll bet he played Muzak all night at his wedding reception.
