In what it’s calling a “major” get, the terror-tied Islamic Society of North America has booked Carter as the featured speaker at its national convention in Detroit tomorrow.
It marks the first time that ISNA, which claims to be a moderate umbrella organization for American Muslim groups, has hosted a U.S. president. Carter has also agreed to participate in a breakout discussion session at the event.
In 2007, the Justice Department implicated ISNA in a plot to funnel more than $12 million to Hamas terrorists. According to an unsealed court document, Justice labeled ISNA an unindicted co-conspirator in the successful trial of the Holy Land Foundation, which acted as Hamas’ fundraising arm in America. Much of Holy Land’s leadership is now behind bars. …

No surprise at all. Just yesterday or the day before, Ol’ Jimmuh was saying that the way to peace in the ME is through the “teachings of Allah,” whatever the heck that’s supposed to mean.

That dude is the reason we are in this mess today. Iran actually use to be an ally of the US before that slimebag took office. The US guaranteed the Shah they would protect him but Carter just sat on his butt when the radicals revolted and took over. The Democrat party needs to be abolished because it is a treason party in every sense of the word, nothing they do benefits the US or the civilized world, as my brother says the Democrat party is a terrorist organization and I couldn’t agree more. What terror group has done more damage than them?

The CIA was paying the Ayatollah several million dollars a year to stay in France. They knew that if he was allowed to return to Iran the Shah was toast. Carter said, “Why, it’s immoral to pay somebody not to do evil.” He stopped the payment. The Ayatollah was back in Iran in months. The Shah fell in a fairly short time but mostly because he was trying to comply with Carter’s instructions not to attack the rioters. So, Carter played both sides to get rid of the Shah and install the Ayatollah. I can’t believe he didn’t do this on purpose because the CIA warned him his actions would make it happen.
The best thing about the evil that is Carter and Obama is that they are both incompetent. Imagine if they had the skill of a Rommel or a Churchill.
30 years from now this will be obama. Giving speeches to american and israeli enemies.
I worked at New York Hospital as a kid when the Shah was dying in it. Still remember the hordes of protesters - Americans - outside, baying for his death. Even then I was perplexed and sickened.
Libs were always blathering on about the Shah’s secret police. On and on and on. They got their way and the Shah was overthrown and horror and chaos ensued. Then, like all good little leftists, they then moved on to their next disaster, leaving us to hold the bag.
Rommel was not a politican, FWIW, and not a bloody murderous type of general to boot. Churchill was a statesman (verus politician) and warrior, too.
And these liberal “doves” have done enough damage; think of Chamberlain and the damage he did.
He’s broke and needs the cash
I never believed that “born again Christian” stuff about Jimmy. I think he found it politically expedient at the time to emphasize this part of his background. But of course, even if he was sincere, that still doesn’t mean he can’t be a total idiot (which he clearly is).
That’s probably the gracious POV, since he can go for any cause besides this one for cash.
Given that he wrote a book titled “Peace Not Apartheid” and given his continuum of actions in this respect, I do not think this was involuntary based on any monetary need.
