European military assistance to Ukraine could lead to a nuclear conflict between Russia and NATO, according to Poland's iconic cold warrior and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Lech Walesa.
"It could lead to a nuclear war," the anti-Communist legend told reporters when asked whether the EU should send weapons to Ukraine to help it fights off separatist rebels and Russian aggression.

Lech Walesa: "The EU is well aware that Russia has nuclear weapons. NATO also has nuclear weapons. Do they have to destroy each other?"

If that was the case, the conflict would be over quickly and decisively, with Moscow smoldering and Russians begging for mercy.

So I guess the Ukrainians should just hoist the white flags? And then what? The Baltics? Poland?

Ukraine gave up their nukes when the Soviets, err - Russians promised never to invade and the USA and NATO promised to defend them when the Russians broke their promise.

Not to worry. Dear Leader has proclaimed that we can “absorb” a nuclear attack.

I keep thinking as I saw an old clip from January 1984 for "Airwolf" where st that time, the Army was interested in me to learn Russian and electronics after I got out of high school (I was a junior then). There is a side of me wishes I took that path, I'd be working in military intelligence. The downside is that after 1991, I could have been out of work but now, I could be called back at the age of 48 to pick up after I left off in the 1980's as these things heat up. I often wonder how many middle aged "Cold Warriors" will be called back.
I think it is about time we give the 1980's a call and bring back the foreign policy from back then.
Too bad Ernest Borgnine is gone, we need Jan Michael Vincent to fly Airwolf for the Ukraine although I think Caitlin can fill in Borgnine's role very well as EWO.

Yes, Putin has whimpered about that for quite a few years.
He and his buddies in North Korea and Iran have issued many slippery, implied threats to nuke us. Let's see what they've got.
