A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged with intentionally igniting the massive King Fire, which has burned 71,000 acres of Sierra foothills east of Placerville while sending up a cloud of smoke visible as far as the Bay Area, officials said Thursday.

El Dorado County authorities took Wayne Allen Huntsman into custody Wednesday on suspicion of felony arson and jailed him in lieu of $10 million bail. Huntsman is a resident of Pollock Pines (El Dorado County), a community in the heart of the fire area.

My son was evacuated because of this scum.

He's fine but waiting to find out if he still has a house or not.

If found guilty, Huntsman should be incinerated.

I lived in Pollock Pines as a very young child when my step-father worked on the American River project in the early sixties.

Why would anyone want to intentionally want to set fire to such beautiful forest.

If he did do it and is found guilty, I hope he is given life without parole. I know the death penalty would never be carried out.

What this SOB deserves is the “Buddhist Monk” treatment circa
1963 Saigon.

I just went to the local Valero for Barley Pops and found out that the fire is heading towards us in Foresthill. There is a local advisory meeting at 7:30 pm at the high school.

I hope this isn’t bad news.

If Huntsman is convicted, barring execution, he should spend the rest of his day in the slammer.

Hey Neighbors. We live in Camino

One of my daughters from here suggested if convicted he should get a free helicopter ride and be strung on a long piece of cheap rope over the next forest fire.

Amazing job the fire fighter have done huh?

Not one house lost yet

Bless those boys

I like it.

Or you could let him swim in a water bladder filled with ethanol and drop him on a hot spot.

He looks like a serial killer. I hope they got the right guy, and if so, he is put away forever.
