The United States has begun a bombing campaign in Syria, but dont bet on Congress returning to Washington to vote on a new war authorization anytime soon.
Shortly after airstrikes against the Islamic State in Syria started, some lawmakers started pushing again for an authorization vote. But so far, leaders arent gearing up to bring their members back to town.
Rep. Justin Amash, R-Mich., tweeted Monday night it was irresponsible and immoral that congressional leaders had chosen to recess for nearly two months instead of debating and voting on war. Van Hollen tweeted that Speaker John A. Boehner, R-Ohio, should call the House back to debate a new Authorization to Use Military Force.
Boehners office deferred to the White House when asked about the issue.

Democrats , thier press and voters are now agreeing with the Dick Cheney docs.
Wow, your congress needs to whip the executive back into line to stop this habit of the POTUS going to war unilaterally. Our Prime Minister is seeking Parliamentary approval to go to war in The ME again, and last time he tried it, they told them to get stuffed. Its not the war I object to though, its the idea that the executive arm of Government believes it can just do what it wants without consulting the legislature like the bloody sun king.
Zero's hypocrisy is apparent to the country, even to his own supporters. He is acting under the resolution he opposed and sounds like George Bush. Everyone sees it.
Doing their job, actually taking a position on anything that might be controversial...horrors. They’d rather be out sipping Chablis at a fundraiser.
