Sources: Wolf to endorse Brownback

Vanquished Republican Senate candidate Milton Wolf is expected to endorse Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback before the midterm elections, GOP sources said Wednesday.

Brownback, a Republican, faces an unexpectedly tough re-election bid in usually deep red Kansas, and the GOP has worked hard to unite the party in the aftermath of a bitter Senate primary.

(SNIP)

National Tea Party endorsements have poured in for Roberts, among them pediatric neurosurgeon Ben Carson and talk radio host Laura Ingraham. Expected to roll through Kansas and endorse Roberts this month are Republican Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas and Rand Paul of Kentucky, as well as House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan, R-Wis.

Good. He ought to ask his supporters to vote for Roberts, too. Six years is not forever.

Yes. Roberts is a hack, but he’s not a flaming RINO as far as I know — which admittedly isn’t very far when it comes to Kansas politics.

I agree. Not thrilled with Roberts, but he is not one of the bigger problems in the Senate. I’d rather keep this seat and then ensure it stays Republican when he retires or in six years. He won fair and square in the primary, as far as I saw it.

This guy Wolf, just COMPLETELY blew it. Good God, why can’t we find better Conservative candidates?

Carson darn sure is trying his best to focus on the tough battles he knows the right has to hold on to plus he is pushing for those in what he sees as fairly close Senate elections.

I like Carson. He got to me after I had been hit by the main party hack, then a few of the big wigs. When I think about it- all he asked for was $5 or more. Heck, I am giving more. Carson might just bring the energy we need.

To be fair, he got a hell of a lot closer than other tea party candidates

Good move.

My advice to Wolf is to bite the bullet and endorse Roberts. Build his credentials, build a network, and challenge the frankly less reliable Moran next go around.

On the votes, Roberts is solid enough to earn Wolf’s endorsement in this situation. Yes, he’s detached from the state and past his prime, but Orman would be a real disaster not worth any potential ‘message’ that might be sent to the establishment if Roberts loses. Save the real anger for Cochran and McConnell.

We absolutely have to re-elect Sam because he has been a stellar Governor. We have to elect Pat because Harry Reid has been a terrible, terrible Senator.

So Moran and the GOP establishment can rip him to shreds and smear him six ways from Sunday once again? I think that Wolf's appetite for elective office is pretty much gone by now.

If Wolf is endorsing Brownback then that must mean that Brownback has agreed to force an end to the Kansas Medical Ethics Board investigation into Wolf’s posting of those pictures on his Facebook site.

OMG, that’s even more depressing.

I don’t really care if Wolf was saying “the right things” on issues or not — this level of poor judgment & callousness is just too much:

Good move. He should endorse Roberts as well.

Ted Cruz is coming this month to endorse Roberts and that should give him big boost.

If Wolf is endorsing Brownback then that must mean that Brownback has agreed to force an end to the Kansas Medical Ethics Board investigation into Wolf’s posting of those pictures on his Facebook site.

And that's exactly the kind of "backscratching" and cronyism that drives honorable people crazy about our "representatives".

Wolf is a low life for even asking for such intervention.

Wolf: Man up and face the bleepin' Board.

Brownback should not submit to such revolting pressure: That Ethics Board should be independent and do its job. If pressured from the Right, the Left, or anyone else, they should scream it to the heavens.

That part of the story. Maybe the investigation was going to be squashed anyway because they have bigger issues to worry about.

By endowing Brownback?

What in the world would Wolf have against Gov. Sam Browback, why would Wolf not want to endorse a pro-life, pro 2nd Amendment, pro-family conservative GOP Governor?

“then ensure it stays Republican when he retires or in six years”

Thank you for thinking like a winner. Too often those on our side are looking for Mr. Perfect and not thinking to win. We need to win and dominate and maybe this and the 2016 cycles may be out last and best chance to crush the left.

Think like the founders and not like high school teenagers.

I’d rather keep this seat and then ensure it stays Republican when he (Roberts) retires or in six years. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I doubt, at his age, he will finish out his 6 Year Term. He'll resign in a year or so and the GOP Establishment will see to it that one of their RINOs gets appointed to that seat. But, if Brownback loses, then the Dem Governor will appoint a liberal to that seat. We'll be stuck him him/her for about 30 years.

Black and inexperienced? Been there, done that. Didn’t work.

You want more “hope and change”?

Why not elect a competent person?
