I think they continue on that path because they more dearly want to defeat conservatism than liberalism.

Doesn’t that seem to be the case?

Freepers have told me that voting R is all that's important. All this stuff about principles is just a bunch of purist hogwash.

No GOPe til the end here...I'll be voting 3rd party, one write in and might...MIGHT...vote for one (R) this time around. Come 2016, I'll vote 3rd party for prez if the establishment puts up anyone other than Cruz or an as of yet unknown strong conservative. I'm done playing the "lesser of evil" game. It's gotten us no where. Worse, it's gotten us to where we are today.

MOLON LABE!

I’m not trying to corral you nor would I assume you would vote for a Democrat. It was a legitimate question hoping for a thoughtful answer. You responded to one of my posts and I was replying.

No, principles are important.

Rigid application that accomplishes nothing and may actually be harmful is the problem

There are some who have essentially said exactly that. It’s either from fear or it’s because they are comfortable with the increasing measure of statism that seems to be coming out of the GOPe. It is as if it can’t be understood that the course will never change voting for the same ol’ same ‘ol.

If my refusal to vote RINO helps the breed to go extinct faster, then I'd say it definitely accomplishes something closer to what we all claim to need and want in our government.

On the other hand, the pragmatic, 'vote for the R no matter what', mindset simply feeds and strengthens the breed, which moves us ever more leftward.

"Harm"? In the short term, perhaps, if we're merely counting numbers of Rs and Ds in Washington. What's more important, is what sort of policies those people are promoting, and or agreeing to in the performance of their jobs. If they serve the long term leftist agenda, then it doesn't matter a lick whether they serve with an R velcroed to their sleeve or not.

Thanks for the sampling of anti-conservative talking points. It blows my mind that such drivel is even allowed here, ON A CONSERVATIVE WEBSITE ...... ahem.

I can remember a time when that sort of talk would draw a near instantaneous zot.

We even had a freeper freely and unasked come out of the closet and admit he was gay on that thread. Unsurprisingly he fought tooth and nail for the GOPe faction now wrecking FR.
That would be post 427

He did call me a “Faggot” though, so there’s that. I guess that means he won...or something.
